Feeling the soft ray of sun upon her cheek, Jennie opened her eyes slowly, blinking as she rolled over in bed to see the clock read 7:00 in the morning.

She had always been an early bird despite her love for sleep... despite being at Taehyung's house playing games past the late hours of night.

Still sleepy, she felt that staying in bed wouldn't help her situation.

Kai. How could he have done this to her? She knew he was an asshole even back in grade school when he used to pick on Taehyung and make fun of his dinosaur nuggets.

It was perfect, she thought. The head cheerleader and the captain of the football team—there was no way she could walk through the school hallways with humiliation weighing over her shoulders.

Taking a quick, steamy shower, she wiped the mirror down and studied herself.

She tried to convince herself she was prettier than Krystal. Her long chestnut colored hair looked stringy when wet. When dry, she liked the way her hair fluffed, the silkiness allowed her to comb through her hair with her fingers. She decided she liked her hair.

She liked her eyes too. They were a nice shape and she knew she held powerful expressions. Krystal had really nice eyes too, though.

Shimmying into her undergarments, she liked the way her bra held up her perky breasts and took a moment to admire her toned body.

Sliding her denim jeans on and pulling over a loose, cream colored knitted jumper, she winked at herself in the mirror.

Jennie wasn't vain, but she wasn't that dense to know she was at least above average looking. She liked the way she fit in her cheerleading uniform.

Deciding that Krystal wasn't prettier than her, she gave herself a lil' slap on the booty.

Walking out of the bathroom and into her room, Jennie shrieked.

"Ahhh!" Taehyung retorted back.

Tripping on her own feet, Taehyung took hold of her arm, catching her before she fell backwards.

"Jesus Jen!" He was close enough for Jennie to feel the heat of his breath on her face.

Picking her back up and planting her on her feet, Jennie brought her palm to her chest.

"Taehyung, you scared the crap out of me! You can't just crawl through my window anymore—what if my dad caught you?" She frowned at him.

Taehyung wiggled his eyebrows at her. "I came through the front door." He paused, smiling at her. "Your dad let me in."

Falling backwards on her bed he began to play some games on her phone. "And I would've called, but you left your phone in my room last night."

"Oh." Jennie plopped beside him, watching him play fruit ninja. "Well, whatever."

"Wanna go to the corn maze with me today?" Taehyung asked as he sliced through four bananas.

Jennie hummed. "I don't wanna go." She pouted. "I wanna stay angsty and suffer in silence."

"Sounds like fun." He commented dryly.

After slicing through a bomb, he handed her her phone back. "You love going through mazes. We could race." He sat up, trying to convince her.

She smiled at him for his efforts. "You'd lose." Now grinning back at him.

Jennie was beginning to cave in, dropping her smile. "Don't you know how popular the corn maze is this year? Everyone from every school is going to be there."
