Monday morning, Jennie dragged her feet. It took twice as long as usual to get ready, and she took extra effort into making herself look perfect. To make Kai regret that he would ever prefer Krystal more than her.

Jennie ended up wearing a fitted leather mini skirt to show off her legs and her curves, not that anyone would be looking at her legs when she was wearing the most flattering fitted long sleeve crop top.

Normally it wasn't Jennie's style to dress up on Mondays—she preferred sporting all black and more comfortable-fitted clothing than something this show-stopping. She could already feel herself regret choosing to wear chunky black boots.

If people were going to be staring, she was going to give them something worth staring at. Confident about her appearance, she did a quick strut out into the rain and into her car... only for it's battery to die out on her. It was the third time in just two weeks.

Frustrated, she slumped into the wheel.

"You okay?" Taehyung was peering through the window, the umbrella he was holding staining his dark green blazer with raindrops.

She rolled down the window. "I think the battery died."

Taehyung nodded, opening her car door for her. "Come on, I'll give you a ride."

Climbing out, she huddled under his umbrella as they walked to his car.

"You won't be late?" Taehyung was already opening the car door for her.

"It's a risk I'm willing to take." He chuckled, "my home room teacher likes me, so it's all good."

Glancing over her as she put on her seatbelt, Taehyung pulled out into the driveway.

"Why are you so dressed up?"

"Do I look good?" Jennie smiled at him.

Ignoring her question, Taehyung tapped a finger on the steering wheel. "Is this about Kai? You think wearing a fancy dress is gonna have him crawling back to you?"

"It's a skirt, not a dress. And no. I don't want Kai crawling back. It would be fun to watch, but I'm no ones door mat."

Taehyung smiled, satisfied with her answer. "Good. But why so dressed up?"

Jennie gave him a quizzical look. "I always dress like this."

"Hmmm." Taehyung smirked at her.

"What?"

"Jen, you ate breakfast at my house last Monday."

"And?"

"You were wearing baggy denim jeans and a crop top with your worn out converse."

"Shut up."

And Taehyung did, all up until he reached the front of the school.

"Where are you going?"

"You don't have an umbrella." Closing the door he opened hers, offering a hand out to her. "Come on, I'm gonna be late."

Safely underneath the entrance of the school and protected from the rain, Jennie turned to face him, giving him a warm smile. "Thanks, I'll get a ride with Rosie."

Nodding, Taehyung started heading back before turning on his heels back to her. "Movie at yours later? I'll cook."

"My dad's gonna watch the game. But if you're still willing to cook, you can come watch it with us. Dad's been ordering a lot of pizza lately and I'm this close to becoming a pepperoni."
