"Jennie!" Rosie dashed through the hallways to catch Jennie's elbow afterschool. "Are you still mad at me for dragging you to that party? Cause I think Kai got what he deserved."
Jennie smiled a little remembering Hobi's sly kick to his ribs.
"I was never mad." She looked at her friend apologetically. "You didn't force me to drink, or to dance with my ex-boyfriend."
"So why aren't you talking to me then?"
"What are you talking about?" Jennie knit her brows in confusion.
"You haven't talked to me since the day I brought your homework after school." The girls walked side by side outside of campus. "At first I thought it must have been something to do with Taehyung. He seemed concerned you weren't calling him back..."
"When did you talk to Taehyung?" She whipped her head to Rosie. Jennie wasn't sure she liked the idea of Taehyung talking about her to anyone else.
"He's just worried about you." Rosie assured her. "Cut him some slack. But what about me? I miss you." She pulled Jennie down to sit at the bleachers.
"I miss you too." They shared a hug. "But I don't really miss cheering." She sighed. "I'm thinking of taking up a new hobby."
Rosie gave her a look. "What does that have to
do with anything?""Well you're busy being the new head cheerleader—congrats by the way—and I just thought I needed to do something to be busy too. I haven't thought of a new hobby yet though."
"So you don't want to hang out because we're doing different extra curriculars? Don't you have friends that aren't on the squad?"
"No. Well—Taehyung."
Rosie shook her head. "Okay. This afternoon, you, me, and my new spring wardrobe. Meet me at the mall?"
"I'd like that." Jennie grinned. She needed to remember how good of a friend Rosie was. She needed to be a better friend.
Jennie thought why she assumed Rosie would stop being her friend when she quit cheering?
Rosie was never a shallow person.
Then Jennie thought that maybe she was the shallow person.
She practically forced Taehyung to pretend date her, all while caring about what other people thought of her, when they probably actually never cared.
The more she thought about it practically, Taehyung was beginning to get righter and righter.
At this point, she was almost thankful that Taehyung wasn't talking to her to tell her 'I told you so'.
Even though Taehyung wasn't that kind of person to rub it in.
Jennie needed to get out of her head.
No more running away from her problems and waiting for graduation to reset her life.

"Didn't you need anything?" Rosie's voice was coming through a dressing room door.
Jennie stood in the small waiting area guarding her and Rosie's already significant pile of bags.
"Not as much as you did." She joked.
"I like collecting designer bags." Rosie wasn't offended in the least. "Anyway—my dad pays my credit card and he can afford it."
