Although Jennie didn't plan it, Taehyung ended up dropping her off to school for the rest of the week.

Taehyung was polite, cracked a few jokes, but for the first time since their childhood friendship, things were awkward between them.

Putting the gear into park, Taehyung looked over to Jennie, noticing how small she looked in the seat, and how fitted her cheerleading outfit looked on her. "There's a football game tonight, right?" He shifted, leaning into his seat lazily whilst students were walking into campus. "I was thinking I could come watch you cheer."

Jennie bit her lip, unbuckling her seatbelt. "Thank you. The game is at 5, but you really don't have to."

Taehyung grinned, teasing her, "Well, I don't have a date anymore, since Nayeon, remember?

Hugging her textbooks closer to her chest, she forced a half smile at him. "There's a party too."

He nodded, "I figured."

Not budging in her seat, he questioned her. "Jen, is this really what you want? Wouldn't it be easier to stop all this pretending?"

"No." She mumbled and got out the car. She wasn't really in the mood to talk.

During the game, Jennie put on her brightest smile, even cheering when Kai made two touch downs despite wanting to boo.

Taehyung watched, as promised - hanging out and standing by the railing, cheering when they scored, conversed with other kids at her school. He played the perfect fake boyfriend.

It made Jennie feel bad when he smiled and waved at her after her halftime routine.

When they went to the after party, things were a little less awkward since they've been to parties together.

Jennie was a little bit envious. He was so good at making conversation and fitting in, making friends anywhere he went.

After a few hours of chatting, Yeri cozied up into on the opposite side of Taehyung's arm. "Twice in a week Tae? Are you following me?" She joked as her manicured nails felt up his bicep. Jennie wasn't jealous, but she did feel the urge to pry her finger claws off of him.

Taking a small half step away from Yeri, he took Jennie into his arms, his hand possessively and dangerously low by her hip.

"Ah Yeri," he smiled, "It was a good game."

"It was a good game. Kai really came through with those two touchdowns." Yeri paused, expecting a reaction out of Taehyung, but nothing.

He stared at her for a few seconds before smiling slightly. Yeri decided to just walk away when the conversation died without Taehyung's response.

Jennie turned into his body completely to look at him. "How did you do that?"

Taehyung kept his hands at Jennie's hips. "What did I do?"

She couldn't stop herself from smiling - "You always know exactly what to say... or I guess in this case, not what to say."

Shaking her head, "I guess I would've mentioned how Kai fumbled."

He sighed. He seemed to be sighing a lot at her lately. "I'm not gonna be that guy, Jen. I don't need to throw dirt at someone else's name just to make me look better or feel better about myself. Besides, what Yeri says or thinks does not matter to me at all."
