Arrive (Part 2)

Christian POV

We just got done talking to people. We let them know that we weren't safe. We may be close to leaving, but it was going to be dangerous. Oh man. The thought of almost getting out of here was beyond unbelievable. It seemed impossible.

"Hey, Christian!" Zach yelled.

"What?!" I yelled back.

"Geez, I kept calling you and you wouldn't answer."

"Sorry," I replied. "Where's the map?"

"Don't ask me, you had it," Zach said. I pulled it out of my pants pocket.

"Are we close?" Zach asked hopefully.

"Yep," I replied. His face lit up.

"Yes! I miss the others so much!" He yelled.

"Oh, shit," I whispered. Zach stared at me. "We forgot to check on Daniel and them." Zach gasped. We quickly got ahold of them.

"Hello!" Jonah happily replied.

"Are you guys ok?" I asked.

"Yes!" Daniel yelled.

"Yeah, we're pretty close. We will still be a little late."

"Oh well, we're pretty much there. Just two long halls," Zach said.

"Anyways, I just wanted to check. Jack called and said that he's already there."

"Ok," Jonah replied.

"He also wanted us to let you guys know that we are not done. We may be close to leaving, but we still aren't safe," I said in a quieter voice. It hurt me to tell them.

"Ok, We'll try to get there as soon as we can," Daniel said in the background.

"We will try our best to buy you guys time and wait for you," I forced myself to say.

"Your kidding?" Zach whispered. I shook my head.

"Uhm. Ok," Jonah replied. I just made all of them scared.

"Bye, stay safe!" Zach yelled.

"Ok, thanks," They replied. We quickly walked through the last two halls. Zach didn't hesitate and just busted through the doors. We both heard yells from Jack and Crawford.

"Damnit, Zach!" Crawfor yelled pulling both of us into a hug.

"Are we the only ones here?" I asked. Jack nodded.

"Daniel and them are still going to be late," Zach said.

"Ok," Jack replied.

We took a good look around the room. Not what I was exspecting, honestly. As the room grew larger, the floor got steeper and steeper. Obviously, either they poured mud in here for building and didn't finish, or a mud slide came through here and luckily stopped. Or, unluckily should be it. I walked up the steep hill of dried mud. On top, there was a really long path or hall that looked like it'd lead to outside. The pile I was on was about 200 feet long, and 100 feet wide. This was the only way out of here. Imagine if we trapped ourselves.

The floors were wooden, adn at some spots, the floor had callapsed. How could this room be so big? For all I know, they could have just added on to the damage that wa done.

~Later~

We were all sitting around and waiting. We knew we'd be in here for a while so we'd decided to block the main door. Daniel, Jonah, and Oscar would come out of one of the two other doors. Some of us stood in front of the doors. Occasionally checking to see if there was anyone close. Those things were banging on the door. They were going to break through soon. We waited, though. Maybe the others would need help. We needed to help.

"C'mon guys!" I yelled making everyone jump. I wasn't mad at anyone. Just scared. I kept telling Jack that the others would make it. I tried to go out, but Jack was worried about me. He told me he could get the rest of us killed if we didn't stay.

"Christian," Jack almost yelled.The door cracked. They were breaking in.

"Christian!" Jack yelled. I squeezed my eyes shut and turned my head to him. I nodded. All hope was gone. The others were gone. My friends were gone. My brother was gone.

"Let's go!" Jack yelled. We all began to run towards the hill. We clutched our weapons in our hands. We were a quarter of the way up. We heard a loud 'Bang!' Behind us. I turned around and the color drained from my face.

"Jack!" I yelled. He looked at me, then at the door.
