finally leaving

Recap:

We were a quarter of the way up the hill. I heard a loud 'Bang!' behind us. I turned around and the color drained from my face. I stopped.

"Jack!" I yelled. He looked at me, stopped, and looked at the door.

END OF RECAP

Daniel, Jonah, and Oscar ran through the door. Right when they did, the main doors busted open, and the creepy ass dudes began coming through.

"Jon-ahhhhhh!!" Daniel yelled as he saw those things. He helped Jonah regain his balance when he almost fell. They were running to us.

"C'mon Guys!" I screamed. My throat burned. I turned and began running again as they were pretty close to us. I looked to my side and saw Zach. He was sticking back with me, but a couple of feet to the front and right of me. I looked back and saw about 20+ of those dudes. I didn't see Daniel or Jonah. Only Oscar. They were running at us with things that looked like would be used for the most painful deaths in the world. I turned back around. The others were not too far ahead.

"Zach, go faster! You need to get out of here!" I yelled as the things started getting closer.

"I'm not leaving you!" He yelled back. I was almost at the top when I felt sharp pain in my leg and turned around.

"Christian!" Zach screamed. There was a lot of screaming. He hit one of the dudes that were about to chop me in half. I looked down and saw a small knife in my ankle. It hurt like hell.

"C'mon!" He yelled grabbing my arm.

"Zach, look out!" I yelled seeing someone behind him. The guy grabbed him and began running back down the hill.

"Zach!" I screamed as tears began pouring out of my eyes. He looked at me and mouthed 'go'with tears running down his face. He went out of sight. The others were holding the other dudes back as I heard someone behind me.

"We need to go, Chrisitan!" I turned around and saw Daniel. He was ok. Tears were streaming down his face too. He saw what happened.

"Zach," I whispered.

"I know. He's gone! They were not holding back. We can't do anything now!" Daniel yelled helping me up. He helped me run.

Zach just threw his life away for me. I told him I would protect him. I told him he'd be safe. I lied. Why did he do that?

We were finally at the top. We were missing more people, but we didn't have time to look. We still had to get out of the building. I looked up and saw that the roof was on fire. This it bad.

"Guys! Keep going! The roof is on fire!" I yelled through deep breaths. My ankle hurt very bad, but I had to get out. I can't have Zach dying and not getting anything in return.
