Jack POV
We woke up and began getting ready to leave. Christian knew everything. We were going to leave and try to see if we could get Daniel.
"Hey, Christian, it's Zach."
"Hey, what's up?" He asked.
"We are getting ready to head out and we want to be connected to you," he said.
"Ok," he replied back.
"So, be ready to just hear anything. We won't be able to talk out loud, or very loudly," Zach said.
"I got you," Christian replied. He gave it to me and I put it in my pocket.
"Ready?"
"Nope."
"Me either," I said as I stood on a stool and opened the vent. I pulled myself up and helped Zach up.
"Remember to stay quiet," I said. Zach nodded and closed the vent.
"We are in the vents," I said into our device.
"Copy," Christian replied. We crawled and my eyes lit up when I saw the familiar area we'd seen yesterday when we saw Daniel. I crawled over and looked down. Zach gasped. How?
"Christian he isn't here," I said.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"They moved Daniel to a different room," I panicked.
"Is it the right one?" We were both panicking.
"Yes, same everything," I said. It was quiet.
"We will find him again, Chris. Don't worry. Goodbye for now," Zach said. I put it up.
"Dang it!" I yelled.
"Hey, hey, chill we will find him," Zach said. I sat back. What if we don't? We finally got the courage to go. We found the hall and took a chance and just jumped down and ran. We kept on walking and I realized that if we don't move, we were going to be caught.
"Let's go," I said moving to the side. We kept walking until we felt like it was going to be hard to find us.
"Were lost aren't we?" Zach asked.
"Yes," I said. We kept walking until we got to a half barricaded hall. There was enough room for us to crouch and slowly make it by one by one.
"I'll go to make sure it's safe," I said.
"Ok," Zach replied. I was halfway through.
"Jack?" I turned around to see Zach looking the opposite way and someone grabbed him.
"Hey, another one," He said.
"Zach, No!" It was to late. He began walking off with him.
"Go Jack. just go!" He yelled.
"Shut up!" the thing yelled. I was stuck. I kept tugging but ripped my shirt. I ran. I ran until I found a safe room. I made sure it was very safe and I cried. I cried because we'd lost Daniel. I cried because Zach was now gone. I cried because I failed to keep him safe.
When I was done crying, I decided to tell Christian.
"Christian, this is Jack," Wow, my voice was raspy, almost gone.
"Hey, Jack. Are you ok?" He must have noticed.
"No," I said. My voice cracked.
"Jack, what's going on?"
"Zach's gone," I said.
"What?"
"I was crawling through a space and they got him. I was checking to see if it was safe. I was stuck and I wanted to be able to get everyone out," I said.
"Ok, well comeback. We can figure this out together."
"No, I'm not. Either I come back to get ya'll, or i die," I said.
"Jack-"
"Sorry, I can't. Don't try to reach me." I said. I sat back and looked up.
"Jack, Jack answer." I shook my head and let the tears fall. I took the batteries out.
"Sorry Chris. I need to do this. I can't have anything to give me up. I am every ones only hope," I said putting the battery and dead device into my pocket. I needed to sleep and continue. No pressure. Just, everyone relies on me. No biggy. Wow, that screamed pressure.
