#22 - Huang Renjun

Later that night I was sitting in my room watching teen titans go on my computer. I had some headphones in because I knew the boys were all sleeping and I didn't want the noise to come out of the room. I got a notification on my phone. I glanced over and saw a message from Renjun.

Are you awake?

Yeah.

Can you come out to the kitchen?

I didn't respond but instead paused my show and quietly snuck out of my room. The whole apartment was dark but through the streetlight shining through the dining room window I saw his figure standing in the kitchen.

"Hey." I whispered as I sat on the counter beside him.

"Why were you awake?" He asked me.

"I sleep roughly 3 hours everyday. What about you?" I replied.

"I usually fall asleep before Jeno but somehow tonight I just couldn't. And of course he snores like a wild boar so that adds to it." He explained. I nodded before jumping down quietly, and getting a 'monster' out of the refrigerator.

"You can not possibly be drinking an energy drink at 2am." He said.

"Is there a problem?" I asked. He just shook his head and chuckled, as I tried so hard to open the lid quietly. I got it under my finger, but then I didn't dare go fast and make a loud noise. Renjun grabbed it from my hands and opened it, not even making an attempt to be quiet.

"That was the most unsatisfying thing to watch." He told me, making me start laughing with my head down. He started laughing with me.

"You're an idiot." I whispered, still trying to contain myself from laughing.

"Thanks." He replied. I just shook my head and sipped my drink.

"Well I guess we should both try and get some sleep. Tomorrow is your first day where you'll be dancing with us." He told me.

"Mm. Alright. Goodnight, Rennie." I said walking off to my room.

Author POV

He smiled at the name before walking back into his shared room. He crawled into his bottom bunk and got comfy, eventually falling asleep.

The next morning

Jinji woke up to her alarm clock, reaching her hand around to find the stop button. She slowly sat up and stretched her entire body, letting all the cracks happen. She stood up and went towards her closest getting an outfit for when she's done from the shower. Her outfit was simple, a big black t-shirt and some baggy skinny jeans with her dance shoes.

When she was was done she went out of her room and greeted the two boys that were awake in the kitchen.

Jinji POV

I got a bowl of almond and oats cereal and ate that for breakfast, while waiting for the others to be done.
Once everyone was ready we left the dorm and went to the practice room. I tied my hair up in a loose bun. The boys asked me if I could do a choreography to a boy group song, which I had no problem with. I was already used to practicing mostly with the boy group dances. I went over to the phone that played the music and searched up 'My pace stray kids.' I knew this entire choreo by heart and I was damn good at it too. I usually learned Hyunjin or Felix's parts with Stray kids because they are easier to follow for me. I got into position and as soon as the music started playing I started dancing. Throughout the whole dance the boys were saying things but I couldn't be bothered to listen to them. I was focused on the dance and kept watching myself in the mirror. When the song was over, they all started clapping and cheering. I walked over to my water bottle which was where the boys were.

"Jinji you could be our main dancer. You're so good." Chenle said.

"Mm not quite, but thank you." I replied.

"Do you know the choreography for boom?" Renjun asked.

"Of course." I answered.

"Wanna fill in Donghyuck?" He questioned. I just shrugged and nodded looking at the other boys.

"Let's run it then." He said and we got into positions.

We started doing the dance and I kept up really well. I didn't miss any parts and I was proud of myself for only ever dancing by myself or next to one other person. Donghyucks solo part came up, which the entire time I felt beyond cringey. Donghyuck was my first bias in nct ever. Don't get me wrong I'm still a huge fan girl for the guy but this part in the song I could never take seriously when dancing to it before. Today I had to pull myself through and go along with it. I did the part, then went back and continued with the others as Renjun started his part.

At the end we all stopped and they were breathing heavily. I was still breathing almost normally.

"How are you not out of breath?" Renjun asked.

"You clearly underestimated me. I can do 5 dances and still breath as if I just took a nap." I replied. Cause truthfully my lungs must've been made of steel.

"Well you can pick a song and then we'll either watch if we know the choreography or we'll do it with you." He told me. I nodded and walked over to the phone and yelled out "You don't know this one. English." They nodded and let me begin. The song was skin by rihanna. (dance video link at the top) I always practice to this dance specially because it's more a mature dance. Nobody has ever seen me dance to it except my 1 best friend, who is training for KQ.

I had to include the grinding parts of the dance, even though it might affect the innocent babies over in the corner that are watching. Thankfully none of them could understand the lyrics, because they definitely weren't clean. At the end of the dance, my bisexual ass had to do the hard grind. I did it and ended the dance before getting shy and running to the corner and stopping the song.

"EVEN THOUGH THAT HAD SOME MATURE PARTS I STILL LOVED EVERY SECOND." Jeno yelled, trying to help me not be so shy.

I looked up and seen Jeno running towards me with his goofy smile.

"That was actually amazing. The others are just flustered because they never see a girl grind like THAT. But they liked it." He explained.
