Chapter 23: Saying Good-Bye

        Everyone got through the portal in time. They won the battle but Bolt...... They were in TCRI but escaped quickly before kraang showed up. On the roofs, they ran as fast as they could to the lair. Crystal, was crying by the time they got there. Mikey set Bolt on the couch and Donnie started checking for a pulse and breathing. Master Splinter came in and was about to speak but he saw Bolt on the couch not moving, and Crystal crying. He understood. "What happened?" He asked worried walking towards Bolt. "We....we....." Mikey said trying not to cry. "They got to her before we could get to dimension X.  They started taking the energy from her. When we got there we were to late. Donnie and Crystal got the bomb ready and we ran out of there and came here. We won though." Raph said sadly. "Donnie, is Bolt going to be okay? Can you help her?" Leo asked worried. "Please Donnie!" Crystal said between sobs. "Donnie PLEASE tell me she is going to make it!" Mikey pleaded to his brother. Donnie looked at Bolt and looked at everyone with a sad face shaking his head. "She.....she has no pulse.....she's not breathing....she's......she's......dead." Donnie said slowly and sorrowfully. Crystal cried more hiding her face. Raph and Master Splinter put there heads down grievously. Donnie comforted Crystal and April hid her face and Casey comforted her. Leo sat on his knees and hid his face with his plan blaming himself for all of this. Mikey started crying. "I'm...so sorry! I..I should have kept my promise! I should have protected you!" Mikey sobbed. "Mikey...." Raph said sorrowfully but Mikey went on. "I wish, I could have been there in time..... I wish I...I could have known you better.....I wish I could have seen you.....without your mask.... I wanted to know you better........ I loved hearing you laugh, and see you smile through your mask.... I love how you don't let your fear control you.....I love everything about you...... Please.....come back to us!" Mikey cried. Tears rolled down Mikey's freckled cheeks that used to dance with a smile on his face. His tears dripped off of his skin and onto Bolt's lifeless arm."Come on Mikey......" Raph said helping his brother up and hugging him. Mikey cried hugging Raph. "It will be okay my son." Master Splinter said comforting Mikey. Everyone went into a different room, not wanting to see their friend lifeless on the couch.

        Crystal cried. "Everything's going to be okay. I promise. She's not in any pain anymore." Donnie said comforting Crystal hugging her. "I know.... I just can't believe she's gone! She's my best friend!" Crystal sobbed. "It's all my fault! We should have left Bolt here! If I just-" Leo said tears rolling down his face but Master Splinter cut him off. "It is no one's fault Leonardo! Bolt knew how risky it would be but she went there anyway to be brave and to make sure you would not get hurt. Before you left, she spoke to me. She said that she was happy to have such great friends like you and she didn't want to lose you or have you get hurt. She told me that, that was the only reason she went. She was more scared than anything, and she knew you could do it by yourselves but she went because she wanted to keep her friends safe! She cared about you enough to risk her life. She knew that this might happen but she went anyway!" Master Splinter said. "Really?" April asked. Splinter nodded.  "Plus, you goofballs could have messed it up. Didn't want that to happen." A voice joked. Everyone's head turned to see Bolt, awake, moving, breathing, and smiling, leaning on her metal rod. Everyone's jaw dropped. "BOLT!" Everyone screamed giving Bolt a gigantic hug. Even Raph and Casey joined in. "Losing....air!" Bolt breathed. Everyone let go but still couldn't believe that Bolt was alive. "How are you alive?!" Crystal said smiling to see her friend. "I don't know! But I'm glad that I am alive. But, do you know why my arm is soaking wet?" Bolt asked wiping her arm. "Oh...uh, sorry. I kinda, cried on you....." Mikey said awkwardly. "Wait, did the extraction process get completed?" Donnie asked. "We think so. It was at a hundred when they took Bolt out of the machine." April said. "Did it finish loading 100%? Cause' if it didn't, all of Bolt's powers weren't taken away. There was just a tiny bit left. So when Bolt died, and Mikey's tears came in contact with Bolt, the last bit of her powers, reacted to the water and gave enough of that energy to Bolt's heart so that it started again!" Donnie said. "My powers are gone...... I can't feel them.... using that last bit of my powers to bring me back to life left me with no more powers..... I'm not a mutant anymore....." Bolt said sadly. "I thought you wanted to be normal?" Crystal said confused. "I did, but when I met you guys, you changed my whole perspective. You didn't let your mutation control you but you embraced it. I was happy being a mutant." Bolt said. "Dude, to us you'll always be a mutant!" Mikey said hugging Bolt again. "Thanks Mikey. So did we win?" Bolt asked. "YEAH WE DID! WOO HOO!" Mikey yelled. Bolt laughed. "Good, I'm happy everything turned out okay! We GOTTA have a all night party for a celebration!" Bolt said excitedly. "Sorry Bolt but you can't do that!" Crystal said. "Why not?" Bolt asked. "Because I have a surprise for you! I found your familie's number and their coming to see you!!!" Crystal said excitedly. Bolt froze. Tears came out of her eyes and she wrapped her arms around Crystal. "Thank you! I miss them so much! I..... I never had the courage to do it myself!" Bolt said. "Your family is coming?! That's awesome Bolt!" Leo said. "Man, this is the best birthday ever." Bolt said under her breath hoping no one would hear. "It's your BIRTHDAY?! Why didn't you tell us?!" Mikey yelled hearing Bolt. "Well, last year I spent my birthday trying to figure out how to use my powers in an abandoned warehouse all alone. I was scared, alone and hungry. I thought the rest of my birthdays would be the same way...." Bolt said. "Well, I don't think you'll have to worry about that anymore!" Casey said. "When is Bolt's family coming?" Donnie asked. "At dark." Crystal said. Donnie checked the time. "That'll be about two hours from now." Donnie calculated. "Then let's start the music and have a two hour party dudes!" Mikey said getting pumped.
