TMNT 2012: A Lightning Bolt

Chapter 15: Nightmares

        The turtles got back from their night patrol and entered the lair. They saw Bolt sleeping on Mikey's shoulder, and Mikey's arm was around Bolt. "That's adorable! Let's go wake them up!" Raph said. "Raph." Leo warned. "Fine..." Raph said going to bed. The other turtles went to bed too.      

        In the morning, Leo and Donnie woke up early like they always did. Bolt and Mikey were still sound asleep. But, Leo and Donnie noticed something. Sparks were coming from Bolt.  "That doesn't look good." Leo said. "Hey, guys!" Crystal said coming into the lair. "Crystal, do you know what's going on with Bolt?" Donnie asked pointing to Bolt's sparks. Crystal looked at Bolt and a worried expression came to her face. "Oh No! She's having a nightmare!" Crystal said. "Wake her up then." Leo said. "No! You do not want to do that! If you wake her up during a nightmare she'll freak and it will make her powers create electricity and it will go everywhere!" Crystal said. "What will happen if we don't wake her up?" Leo asked. "Well, either she sees that her nightmare isn't a dream and wakes up calmly or she thinks it's real and the sparks get bigger and bigger." Crystal said. "What can we do to stop it?" Donnie asked. "What are you guys talking about?" Raph said coming in and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Raph looked down at Bolt and saw the sparks coming off of her. "Oh..." he said. The sparks got bigger and one hit Mikey. "OW!!!" Mikey yelled jumping off the couch. Bolt was now shaking her head in distress from her nightmare. The sparks got bigger. "Bolt! It is just a dream!" Crystal said. "What could she possibly be dreaming about?" Raph asked.

         Bolt was running across the streets being chased by something. She kept looking back to see a shadow chasing her. She ran faster. She looked back again but nothing was behind her. She stopped and caught her breath. "Good. *pant* It's gone." She said to herself. She heard a beeping noise behind her. She looked back to see an army of kraang droids. "NO!" Bolt screamed. Bolt extended her hands and tried to electrocute them but her powers weren't working. "No, not now!" Bolt said. Kraang droids started shooting at her. Bolt ran and ran as fast as she could. A blast hit her in the chest. She felt pain creep up on her. The blast pushed her off the building. Bolt screamed as she fell. She closed her eyes waiting for the impact. When it didn't come, she opened her eyes and then, she fell upon a metal floor. Bolt was in pain but somehow the impact didn't kill her. Bolt slowly got up. Bolt looked up to see herself. "What?" Bolt asked. Bolt looked around and saw she was in a room full of mutagen canisters and the ceiling had electrical wires everywhere. Bolt's other self closed the door when kraang droids almost entered. Bolt's other self walked backwards away from the door. "NO! LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING!!!!!!" Bolt yelled at her other self. Bolt's other self crashed into a few canisters and mutagen fell on her. Bolt's other self was then, whacked by an electrical wire and it shocked her. An electrical blast came from the other Bolt. Bolt was hit in the blast and crashed into a wall. "Ow...." Bolt said. Bolt hurt even more now, and her arm was bleeding. Bolt looked forward and saw herself strapped down and there was a machine in front of her. Her arms were strapped to the machine. Next to Bolt, on a screen was Kraang Prime. "You shall work for kraang, willingly or not!" Kraang Prime yelled. Bolt realized that the machine she was strapped to was the machine that took her power and helped the kraang with their invasion. Bolt didn't want to believe any of this. She was scared, and in pain. She just wanted to get out off there. Bolt was so scared she started crying.

        In the lair, Bolt was creating massive sparks in her sleep. "What do we do?" Donnie asked Crystal. "We have to hide behind anything not metal and try to talk to her to have her believe that she is dreaming." Crystal said. "But she is sleeping! How can she be able to hear us in her dream?" Raph asked. "This happened a couple of times before. I kept telling her that she was dreaming and somehow she heard me and she calmly woke up and the sparks were gone." Crystal said. A huge spark almost hit Leo but Leo dodged it just in time. The turtles and Crystal hid behind stuff and Crystal started talking to Bolt. "Bolt, it's me Crystal! You're dreaming! You have to wake up! Please wake up! You're dreaming!" Crystal kept repeating. Bolt still creating sparks in her sleep. The sparks just kept getting bigger. Tears started coming from Bolt's eyes.

        The machine took all the energy the kraang needed from Bolt. The next time Bolt opened her eyes, she saw Crystal and Mikey. Bolt smiled and hugged her two best friends. Crystal shoved Bolt to the ground. "How could you?!" Crystal yelled at Bolt. Bolt stood back up. "It's not my fault I was strapped to the machine! I couldn't do anything! Please believe me!" Bolt pleaded. "I knew you were trouble the day we met! You're just an evil lier!" Mikey yelled at Bolt. "Mikey please!" Bolt pleaded more.

        "Bolt, it's Mikey! Whatever you're seeing it's not real! You're dreaming! Please wake up!" Mikey said. The sparks from Bolt started to go down. "It's working!" Donnie said.        

        Bolt heard a voice from the distance. "Bolt, it's Mikey! Whatever you're seeing it's not real! You're dreaming! Please wake up!" the voice said. "I'm dreaming? This is all....a dream?" Bolt asked herself. Bolt then realized that it was a dream. None of this could be real. Then, Bolt saw a green fist go through the air and hit her face. Bolt tumbled to the ground. Pain came to Bolt's cheek. Bolt looked up to see Mikey holding up his fists. "Mikey.....you hit me!?" Bolt asked shocked. "I attack my enemies." Mikey said. Crystal kicked Bolt but Bolt dodged in time. Bolt stood up. Bolt was horrified that her best friends were attacking her. She forgot this was a dream and thought it was real again.

        Once again the sparks grew. But this time, they grew bigger than before. Everybody tried talking to her this time but it didn't help. The sparks just kept on growing.

        "I'm not fighting you guys!" Bolt yelled at her friends. "Good! So that should make it easy!" Crystal said giving Bolt a punch. Bolt got pushed back to the edge of the building they were on. She looked down and saw nothing but darkness. If she fell, it would be an endless fall. "Please don't do this. You guys are my friends!" Bolt said. "We're not friends with the enemy!" Mikey said. Mikey kicked Bolt in the stomach and she fell off the building. Bolt screamed as she fell and darkness surrounded her.

        Bolt woke up screaming. Sparks went everywhere and hit anything metal or electrical. The things the sparks touched cracked, or broke. The TV, the arcade games and even the fridge, microwave, and stove blew fuses and almost exploded. Bolt stopped screaming and the sparks stopped. Bolt was crying and shaking. Mikey hugged Bolt. "It's okay! It was just a dream!" Mikey said. Bolt hugged Mikey back still shaking and crying. "You don't hate me?" Bolt asked. "We could never hate you Bolt." Crystal said joining in on the hug. "I'm sorry, I thought it was real." Bolt said. "It's okay, It's over." Leo said. "No it's not! The kraang are still after me!" Bolt yelled breaking the hug. There was silence for a bit. "Hey, Bolt I brought you something. It's in my bag! Come on." Crystal said. Bolt, Crystal, and Mikey walked towards Crystal's bag. "You know that she's dangerous." Raph said to Leo. "I know." Leo said. "The kraang are going to find her eventually." Donnie said. "I know." Leo said. "So, what are you going to do?" Raph asked. "I don't know.... I'm not going to let them take her though!" Leo said.
