I don't need life to be filled with excitement
With red hot passion and strikes of lightning
With steaming desires and fiery adventures-
Though that would be nice.I don't need life to be exceedingly meaningful
Every waking moment dedicated
To a purpose, to a person, to something-
Though that would be nice.I don't need my friends to tell me stories
Of how they saved babes from the Thames,
Saved the world thrice over, and then some-
Though that would be nice.I don't need to tell myself
That I'm wasting time if I'm not moving
That I'll be unsatisfied if I don't change the world-
Though it would be nice. All I need is for life to be
Enough.
And I'm sure the rest will follow.
