The impala pulled up outside an old, decrepit appartment building where the latest victim, Mr. Galdwin, lived. Dean and Sam stepped out of the car and walked into the building.

The main desk was occupied by an elderly woman with white hair and piercing brown eyes. She did not look too friendly. Dean reached into his pocket and pulled out a fake badge and walked toward the desk.

"Excuse me, I'm Agent Aguleria, this is Agent Lopez. We're here to investigate the Galdwin murder."

"Why's the FBI here now, exactly? And how do I know you two ain't lying to me?"

"Geeze," Dean muttered, "Ma'am, we believe that this is in a string of murders, a serial killer, and whoever is doing this has been knocking people off cross country. So-"

"So why the hell are you here?"

"Listen, Lady-"

"Ma'am," Sam cut Dean off, shooting him a glare, "This is the most recent case, and we believe it'll give us the most ammount of information. Could you please tell us which appartment he lived in?"

The woman looked them up and down. "723. The cops are already up there. Elevator's behind you."

"Thanks," Sam smiled and ushered his brother into the elevator. Once the doors shut, Sam smacked Dean's shoulder. "What the hell was that?"

"What was what?"

"Were you going to threaten that old lady-"

"What else was I 'spose to do?! Whe wasn't going to let us in!"

"You could try asking nicely."

"I did ask nicely. She just ignored me."

Sam sighed angrily, "You can be such a child sometimes."

Dean was about to rubuke his brother when the elevator door opened. There was a man in a police uniform standing there. "Are you two with the FBI?"

The brothers exchanged a confused look. "Yes we are. How did you-"

"I'm Officer Florence. The floor monitor called up to the deceased's appartment. Follow me."

They followed the officer to the door for apartmeny 723, which was taped off. Inside the appartment were swarms of detectives and forensics workers, cataloging every single aspect of the room.

"What can you tell us about the vic, Florence?" Dean asked while he exaimined the appartment.

"Jeremy Galdwin, 62 year-old white male. Former social services worker. He's been retired for a few years now. A neighboring tennant found him after it happened."

Sam looked at the officer, "What're the reports calling it?"

"Currently, suicide. One of the dectiives checked with the family though, and they don't believe he'd do it."

"Most families don't. It's hard to cope with the loss of someone you loved. Especially if they took their own life," Sam assured.

"You don't believe it was a suicide, do you?" Dean asked.

"Sir, I'm really not suppose to say. I haven't made detective yet."

"Yeah," Sam interjected, "but what do you think?"

The cop paused. "Well, there's been no forensic evidence yet to show anyone else in the appartment, which narows out homicide, but..." he paused again, collecting his thoughts, "A retired man with a 401K set up to carry him through for the next 40 years has no reasom to kill himself. His family adored him, he had close friends nearby, it just doesn't make sense to me."

"Thanks, Florence. Is the tennant who found him near by?" Sam asked.

He nodded. "Right down the hall, 724."

"Thanks."

The brothers exited the appartment and walked toward the nearest one. Sam knocked on the door to the appartment and waited for a response.

There was no reply.

Dean tried again, knocking more forcefully, but, again there was nothing.

"Looks like we're going to have to check back later," Dean sighed.

"In the mean time, we better get going on research."
