two weeks now i've been in here. harry, ron, hermione, luna, neville or ginny brings me food every meal time, and one of them usually sits with me after classes. apart from that it's pretty lonely. i've been studying in here, trying not to fall behind on work. harry comes in every few days to give me an update, but it's quite obvious i'm not getting out of here anytime soon. not unless i want to take a worse punishment.

dracos pov
i slam my book shut, not even sure why i'd been trying to concentrate. 'what the fuck is wrong with you man' crabbe whispered next to me.
'just shut up' i replied, not even looking at him. he scoffed, 'don't tell me the draco malfoy is worked up over a girl'.
'i mean it crabbe, drop it' i snarled and crabbe looked at me in disbelief. 'it was just a joke dude, calm down' he blinked, shaking his head at goyle across the room. i knew they were gonna be talking about me later but i couldn't be arsed to deal with them today. i had bigger problems.

the bell rang, signalling the end of class and i abandoned my stuff on the desk, cornering potter before he got the chance to leave. 'where's y/n' i asked urgently.
'as if i would tell you' he said, rolling his eyes 'you're a prefect, you'd rat her out in seconds to get in umbridges good books'.
'just tell me where she is potter, cut the bullshit'
'i'm. not. telling'
'potter i swear to fucking god, tell me where she is or i'll kill you' i spat.
'why do you even care?' he replied 'it's not like you've ever cared about her before'.
'fine, don't tell me' i sneered 'i'll find her myself'. i huffed and stormed back to my desk, grabbing my stuff off my desk. maybe this was better, it gave me time to convince umbridge to drop the punishment.

'where are you going?' goyle called, looking up from the game of boulder, parchment and wands that him and blaise were playing. 'just to see umbridge' i replied, swinging my bag over my shoulder. hermione nudged harry from across the classroom, and harry nodded. normally i would give them hell for obviously talking about me like that, but today i just couldn't be bothered.

the corridor was fairly quiet, most people had rushed off to the great hall for lunch or outside to meet their friends by the lake. i kept an eye out as i walked, trying to figure out where y/n could be hiding. 'are you going to come in then? or just stand dithering out in the corridor?' umbridge said sharply. i hadn't even realised i'd been standing outside. i came in quickly, pushing the door ajar behind me.

'what can i help you with mr malfoy' umbridge smiled 'looking for more prefect duties?'
'actually professor umbridge' i replied 'i wanted to confess something to you'
'oh?' she asked enquiringly. she had one eyebrow raised looking intrigued, as though she thought i had came to confess i knew where y/n was. 'i, um. i was the one who started the argument with potter and his friends. they didn't attack me unprovoked, and y/n especially shouldn't be punished because she did nothing wrong'. umbridge smiled at me, looking bored. 'you think i don't know that? it was very gallant of you to come confess like this draco, but i don't think it will harm potter and his friends to continue their detentions and be humbled a bit will it' she continued 'as for, your friend y/n. i'm afraid she still caused disruption to my class, and her attempt to avade her punishment will only add further time on when she eventually crawls out from her hiding space'. fuck, i thought. i had to think of something fast, or else it seemed that y/n was never going to get out. 'but i told her to say that' i blurted out quickly 'i can't stand her and i thought it would be funny, i told her i'd hex her if she didn't'. she looked as though she was going to laugh, before thinking better of it. 'well as much as i have to admire your thinking, i'm afraid i have to punish someone'.
'i know, you can punish me'
'very well'.

y/n's pov
the door flung open and i didn't bother to look up from my book, assuming it would be one of my friends with food or new school work, possibly an update from dumbledore. 'not even a hello y/n' a voice laughed cooly. draco. fuck. how did he find me? i looked up ready to fire questions at him, or maybe run and hide somewhere if i had to, until i caught site of him. his hair was messy, looking slightly singed on the ends as though he'd been electrocuted. his cheeks were flushed, and his left side of his face was covered in half wiped away blood and scratches. it was obvious his hands were shaking by his sides, but he leant against the door and smiled at me cheekily in an obvious attempt to play it off. 'what happened?' i gasped, rushing over to him and wiping the blood on his cheek with my thumb. he smiled at me, grabbing my hand and pulling it away from his face. 'don't worry about it, we can go, you don't have to hide anymore'. i stopped and looked up at him, raising my eyebrow. 'is this a trick? i swear if this is all a set up-' i started, but he cut me off.
'no trick i promise, you can come back to the dorm' he took my hand and started dragging me down the corridor, before stopping clearly deep in thought. he let go off my hand and looked at me 'oh and, umbridge thinks we hate each other'.
