Chapter 18

Each shooting day is a big challenge, but it's also fun
-Baran Odar.

^ Kate's bedroom

I feel something heavy around my waist. It's tightly holding onto me as if I am about to lash out on the person who's holding me.

Not wanting to open my eyes yet, I groan out in annoyance and try to shift into the warm body next to me. I turn my head so I can shield my eye from the sunlight, and snuggle into the person next to me.

I hear a light chuckle come from them. "Come on shortstacks, you gotta get up. Or all The food is going to be gone." He whispers, slightly shaking me to get up. "No, I'm not hungry and I'm too comfortable to move right now." I say, waving a hand dismissing him. It goes quiet, and if I still didn't have my face shoved into his side right now, I would've thought he left the room.

I feel him shift for a second before I feel cold air around me. I pick up my head and look at him. "What are you doing?" I ask blankly, waiting for his answer. He just shrugs and walks out of the room. He carries me bridal style, down the stairs and into the kitchen. Walking in I see the others eating and clearing plates.

"I told you I don't want any food." I state again. "I heard you the first time. I want some food, and you're going to sit here with us so we can talk about what happened last night and where we are. Because all I know is that we are in Georgia."  He says, pulling out a chair and sitting in it, placing me in his lap. "I'm only answering one of those questions, and why can't I have a normal sit instead of sitting on you?" I say, trying to wiggle out of his hold. He tightens his hold on me.

I feel him lean closer to my ear. "Stop moving around or I'm going to take you back up into your room and let you deal with this hard on your making." He whispers into my ear, good thing the guys look all too tired to actually process anything but putting food in their mouths. I stop moving and Ace lets out a sigh of relief.

Why do I have to and take the bad boy of the school. What was I even thinking? Oh yeah, that I don't want anyone to die because of me. *Mentally sighs* that's my luck. Facing reality again, I see Ace already has a plate of food and is taking a huge bite.

I see some juice in a glass, so I take it, not caring who it was. "How you doing this morning?" Lee asks, finishing his food and pushing his plate away. I shrug.

"Normal, I guess." I state, remembering my whole nightmare last night. I'm pretty sure Jay scoffs at what I said. "You were screaming in your sleep again. Mumbling things about not to hurt her and to please let him go. When we came into your room, we thought the men after you already found us, so we had our guns pointing out, but all we saw was you on the ground crying. Mumbling not to touch you. We slowly moved you to the bed, but you kept lashing out and moving around. You then screamed that we should kill you, then you went silent. Ace was next to you the whole time holding you down. You woke up not long after that and cried into Ace's arms." Jay explains to me what happened. I didn't even know I fell asleep on the floor.

"Yeah, then you fell back asleep holding onto Ace for dear life. I would've thought it was cute, if I didn't know what happened before." Lee says. I look down while Ace tightens his hold on me. "I told the guys to go back to sleep and I stayed with you the rest of the night, but they got the idea to sleep in your room on the floor." Ace says, trying to brighten the mood a little, but it doesn't work. "Yeah that floor made my back stiff." Zack says stretching his limbs.

By now, everyone is done eating. "Look guys, if you want me to tell you I will, just promise not to freak out when you hear." I say, making the decision that I could trust them enough to tell them. "Only if you want to. You just really scared us last night." Ace says rubbing his hand on the side of my waist. I nod. "Y'all go change. I'm taking you somewhere I should've gone a long time ago." I say getting up from Ace's lap. He lets me go.
