Chapter 24

Make time for planning: Wars are won in the general's tent.
- Stephen R. Covey

Yesterday was a fun day. After Ace and I came out of my room, and confessed to each other, we joined the boys on the couch as they watched football. The Saints were going up against the Steelers and we were cheering them on like crazy. They were shocked when they realized I liked football. I guess they didn't realize that girls can like football too.

I told them that I knew all the positions and the players on the Saints, but didn't believe me, so I told one of them to pull up the Saints raster for this year. Jay pulled up the list of football players and told me to start listing them.

I listed the names of the players, what positions they played and how many touchdowns they have gotten so far.

Let's just say they didn't speak to me after that and went back to watching the Saints play. I remember laughing to myself as I continued to watch the game, screaming when a touchdown was called and yelling at the TV when a foul, I believed was made wrong, was called. After that we each did our own things and wasted the day away.

We had some Subway for dinner before we got back to watching TV. Around midnight, I called it a night, as both the guys and me were falling asleep. We all went to bed, saying goodnight to each other.

Now, I have just woken up and I feel a weight on my waist. Thinking it was a pillow that just fell on top of me when I was sleeping, I tried to move it off and get out of bed.

Yeah, that's until I get pulled back down and tugged closer to something. Me being more awake now, I realized that this 'pillow' has heat coming off of it. I slowly turn to the thing behind me and look at it.

Ace sleeps peacefully behind me as I turn around to face him. He shifts a little, almost waking up, before going back to sleep. I let out a breath of air, I didn't know I was holding. It blows softly onto his face, and slightly moves a few strands of hair.

I carefully turn back around and try to move his arm from around my waist.

Again, it was unsuccessful. He ends up tightening it more around me. I try again, but still no luck, so this time, I take a risk. I try moving my whole body out of his hold.

It didn't seem like he was tightening his hold on me, so I kept trying to wiggle my way out.

I stop when I hear a groan come from behind me. "Stop moving." Ace says, groggy from just waking up. Thinking he just went back to sleep or was talking in it, I tried to move again.

Big mistake.

I feel something poke me in the lower region. Stopping all movement, I hear him sigh. "Now look what you've done. Now I have to go take a cold shower early in the morning." He says, not moving one bit.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I was just trying to get up without waking you up. Plus, how did you get in here? I didn't know you sneak into girls rooms to cuddle with them and sleep." I say playfully, turning to face him. He rubs sleep out of his eyes and turns his face to face me. "Only for you, and I snuck in here last night because I just felt like it." He says, shrugging his shoulders and getting up.

"I'm going to go handle this." He says walking out of the room. I chuckle lightly before getting up and changing clothes. I quickly brushed my teeth and hair before Ace took the bathroom, and went downstairs.

I don't feel like cooking, I think to myself. I plop down on the couch and turn on a random show.

Soon, I hear someone come down the stairs and lean on the couch behind me. Looking behind me, I see Ace with a towel around his neck, a slightly loose shirt on, with some sweatpants. He has one end of the towel in one hand as he drags it through his wet hair, trying to dry it. "That wasn't long." I state, turning back to the TV.

"Nah, I wanted to come back down here as quickly as possible." He says. I feel the weight on the couch move and he jumps, from behind the couch, next to me. I look at him with a like that says did-you-really-just-do-that.

He ignores my stare and continues to watch what I have on. I feel my stomach growl slowly. I grab my stomach and look at it, conflicted. I want to feed you, but I don't feel like cooking. Ace looked at me, when he heard my stomach growl, and looked at my face.

"Do you want me to make you something for breakfast to find your internal monster?" He points to my stomach. I laugh at what he called my stomach. "Can you? I don't feel like cooking today." I say getting up with him and turn off the TV. We both move to the kitchen, he gets behind the counter as I sit at one of the stools. He takes out a pan and continues to make some omelets and bacon.

Just as he puts my plate down, I feel three presences enter the room. Turning around, I am met with three hungry looking boys, who just so happen to be my friends. "Hey guys." I say, smiling at them before turning towards my food to eat it.

"Did you make any for us?" Zack asks, now standing behind me staring at my food. I look at Ace. "No. Go make your own food." He says, taking his plate, that he made, and setting it down next to me.

I feel them all frown behind me. "Then why does she get some food? She didn't make it." Jay says, grumpily. "Because at the time she asked, I felt like cooking." He shrugs dismissively before taking a bite out of his omelet. I do the same as I hear them scoff behind me and walk behind the counter and make something for themselves.

I felt bad that they had to make their own food, but I kept my mouth shut.

After eating and talking with the guys, they went onto the topic of how I know all the football players, positions, and touchdowns on the Saints. I told them that it was a fun mini game for me when ads went on during a game. I would try to memorize all the players, positions, and the touchdowns. Eventually, I learned the players and most of their stats. I still do it when new people come onto the team each year.

They were surprised to hear my answer, but still thought it was cool that I learned all of the players names and positions. Putting the dishes away, I got to the topic I mainly wanted to ask them about today.

"Guys, we need to figure out a plan to get this son of a bitch." I simply state, looking each of them in the eyes. They nod in agreement. "Do you have anything in mind?" Jay askes. I shake my head. "Alright, we need to find a plan that will work!" Zack says, pulling out a chair and taking a seat. Everyone else takes a seat along with him. "Can't we just go in and kill him?" Zack just shrugs, not remembering that Jacob has been watching me, along with the guys.

"You do realize that he was watching me and also y'all, since I've been with y'all for months, right." I state, bluntly. He laughs, awkwardly. Everyone else laughs at the situation. Let it be Zack to bring laughter into some serious situations. "Ok guys, we need to figure this out." I say when we cool down a little.

They start listing stuff off, and honestly some weren't that bad, but still weren't good. We stay in the kitchen all day to figure out our plan, but it is still unsuccessful.
