Chapter 11
Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive.
- Josephine HartThe men surround us as they get out of their cars and walk closer. Me and Mark slowly move into a fighting stance, knowing there is going to be a fight soon.
One man steps out in front of the crowd, we all turn our gaze to him. "Isabella, we have come to bring you back. He is waiting for you back in New York." He says with no emotion on his face. "I'm not going back to that horrid state. Just kill me, otherwise I ain't goin'." I say with venom laced in my voice. "You know we have to bring you back alive. Now come with us." He says bring his hand out. "I guess you aren't getting me." I state calmly and punch the nearest person to me.
A whole fight breaks out and the men start to push us backwards.
I send a roundhouse kick to a man in front of me, then a punch to the man besides me. They both fall down, out cold. The men keep coming at us in a never ending cycle. I look over to Ace for a second, to see him fighting three guys at once. Huh, guess he ain't with them after all, I think to myself as we all get blocked in with Ace's car behind us and the men in front and at our sides.
Mark stands in front of me. "Go, I can handle them." He says. I nod because I know most of them are going to go to their cars to chase after me. I turn and grab Ace's hand, and open the drivers side door. I shove Ace in the seat before sitting down on him. I close the door back and start the car. "Why are you on me?" He asks with curiosity in his voice. "Because you couldn't go around, this was the only door not blocked by them, and I can't let you get killed." I state fast as I race out of the neighborhood.
My dad taught me how to use every type of car out there, so I quickly drift on a left turn then a right.
Like I predicted, most of the men got into their cars and raced after me. Maybe 7 or 8 guys stayed behind to fight Mark. I'm not worried though, I know he can handle himself. Right now I have to worry about getting out of this mess.
I know this neighborhood like the back of my hand, so I take some dirt roads to lose them, but most are still right behind me. I sharply turn and head for the highway.
I feel Ace put his arms around me, so I don't fly off as I weave in and out lines. I hear honks behind me as I cut off multiple people, but that doesn't stop me.
Now one or two cars are still behind me, so I make a quick decision and exit onto a dirt road that I know only leads to one place. Ace tightens his hold on me as the road gets bouncy.
I get the race track that is old and abandoned. No one ever goes here anymore, but it's still in good condition to ride around in. When I first got here, I started to explore the area, so I know it, and came across this. This track helped me when I didn't feel like taking my anger out on a punching bag.
Once I get on the track, I slow down a little and put more pressure on the gas pedal with each second that passes.
