Epilogue

There is no real ending. It's just the place where you stop the story.
- Frank Herbert

5 years later

It's been five years since everything. Five years since I killed Jacob, since I saw Laura and Isabella again, since the boys met my Aunt Olivia and Mark. To tell you the truth, I didn't know what I was going to do after I completed my goal of killing Jacob. I thought I would just work and try to find something interesting, or just travel the world, but the week after everything calmed down, Ace asked me to be his girlfriend.

I knew this was coming, I mean come on. We both admitted we liked each other in New Mexico, and I told him we'll make it official when we got out of that mess.

Throughout the five years me and Ace have been together, the boys, Laura's family, and mine have stuck together. I decided to change my name back to Kate 'cause it was getting confusing when people called for Isabella, but wanted me. Although there would be some laughter about that in the end,but it was incredibly annoying.

Anyway, in those five years, me and Ace had stayed strong and moved in with each other. I also joined the mafia a year later, just so I could have some down time before going back into the mafia world. We are now living in my big mansion in Louisiana, although I still have my parents house in Georgia. I couldn't sell it, so it turned into our little vacation home to get away from everything. Olivia is staying in her house, but always comes up to see us often, along with the boys, but they have their own houses now. They live on the same street as us, but spend most of their time in our house.

"Mommy!" A voice gets me out of my day dream.

"Yes honey, what's wrong?" I ask my two year old son, Rio.

"Can you make me some food?" He asks with a puppy dog face. I smile down at him. "Sure bud." Turning away, I head to the kitchen and make him some food.

The last five years have been different for everyone. Lee and Jay both have girlfriends that accept them as who they are, mafia and all. I get along with them, surprisingly because I think I came off a little cold to them at first, but in my defense I have major trust issues and no one messes with my boys. Eventually though, they got used to it and I let them in, so now we are really good friends. Zack still hasn't found anybody, and the boys keep on picking on him, which I find funny. Mark is doing really well for himself. Last year he decided to go into pro football and get on the Saints team. You can bet your ass that I am going to every one of his games, even if I have to watch on TV. I'm very proud of him though. Ace and the boys are still in the mafia, same positions in their inner circle. They have grown more powerful over the last few years and I am very proud of them.

Oh, and you remember my, once best friend, Zenon. Yeah, well he came to Olivia's house after graduation to say that he doesn't want to be friends anymore and to not contact him again. I gladly agreed to what he said and shut the door in his face.

"Rio, your food's made. Come eat!" I yell for Rio. His little legs come barreling into the kitchen, laughing up a storm. "Thank you, mommy." He says, shoving his face with his food.

After Rio eats, I take him to his room to take his afternoon nap. Just as he goes to sleep, I get up and walk out of the room, going back downstairs to watch TV before I have to make dinner. I hear the door open and close just as I turn on the TV. I turn the volume up and the closest thing to me, a candlestick holder. I move close to the wall of the entryway to this room and wait for them to come in.

I see a head peek out and I lift the object high above my head. I'm about to slam it down when I realize who just came into my house.

"SERIOUSLY ZACK!!!" I scream at him, scaring the life out of him. "I almost beat your head in with a candlestick holder!" I continue to scream at him. "Why are you here anyway?" I say, calming down, hoping I didn't just wake up Rio. "Well, I just wanted to tell you something, but if you're going to be hostile with me, then I'll just leave." He says, looking at the candlestick holder then back at me. I chuckle a little, putting the holder back into its place.
