" I love you, Sierra ", Jonathan said as he embraced Sierra. His voice trembles like he yearned for her so badly that it was hurting him.

"My lord..... I love you too", said Sierra as she accepted his embrace with tears in her eyes. Her face reddened with happiness as his warmth spread through her body.

Both of them seemed to be drowning in happiness but that was not the case for Kiara.

Kierra Vonton was the wife of  Duke Jonathan Alden, the man who at the moment was lovingly embracing her own younger sister. Kiara just stood there as the horror kept unfolding before her eyes. She never thought that she would see this awful sight.

It's been eleven months since Kierra and Jonathan got married and everyday was a bliss for Kierra. She had just married the man of her dreams and became the duchess of house Alden. She never felt so happy and thought that this would last throughout her life until she saw this scene at her own house in her husband's study.

Kierra went to meet her husband in his study when suddenly she heard two familiar voices talking to each other discreetly.

"My lord, we shouldn't be doing this.", said the voice.

"But I can't stop my feelings from overflowing for you.", said a male voice. That was clearly Jonathan's voice.

Kiara had an inkling of who the other person was but she wasn't sure, she didn't want to be sure to be exact.

"But I can't betray my sister!", said the voice.

Now, Kierra couldn't help but be sure. Even if she didn't want to find out, the truth just slapped her face. It was her younger sister, Sierra.

"What about your happiness ? What about our happiness ?", he asked pleadingly.

The flow of the conversation was disturbing. A flood of questions swam through Kierra's mind.

["What is Sierra doing here? Why didn't she come meet me ? Why do their voices reek of longing for each other ?"], such thoughts filled her mind.

"B-but......", Sierra stammered.

"I fell for you from the moment I saw you, was it not the case for you ?", he asked.

Her heart started screaming. "No! No! No! No!", screamed her heart.

This should not be happening right now.

She knew that she should have stopped her curiosity right then and there but her heart couldn't help but want to be pierced by the bitter truth. So she opened the door slightly, just enough to see the horrendous scene happening inside the room.

"Speak, my dear Sierra", he said gently holding her hand like she was some sort of a delicate branch which would break with the slightest strength.

He looked desperate to hear her words, like a lost child yearning for love. It was the face of a man who was deeply in love. A face Kierra never saw when he was with her.

Her body froze up, she couldn't move nor take her eyes off of them.

"My lord.....", Sierra's face was bright red and her eyes started tearing up.

"I love you, Sierra", he said as he embraced her with his whole body.

"M-my lord, I love you too", she said with tears in her eyes and accepted his embrace.

"I'm happy, I'm truly happy", he said with a smile.

Then their faces started slowly closing in and finally the two lips kissed and they still held each other in their arms. Their faces were filled with passion and love as if they were destined to be with each other.

Kierra's mind went blank and her heart became silent. She couldn't think of anything.

Finally her sense of rationality returned and started moving her body. She closed the door soundlessly and slowly started walking back towards her room.

It was the first time she ever felt that her room was very far.

She returned to her room and her maid Sara was waiting there.

"Your grace! Did you see master ?", she asked but Kierra didn't say anything and just kept mute.

How could she know ? That she just returned from watching her husband with another woman, her own sister.

"Sara, I want to rest. Could you leave the room ?", she said quietly with a blank face.

"Of course !", she said in her usual cheery voice and left the room without asking any other questions.

She sat on her bed and didn't move for a while. The whole scene replayed in her mind.

["How could they betray me ? My only sister and my only love ?"]

Jonathan's smile flashed through her mind. He never smiled like that in the entire two years she knew him.

Suddenly tears started rolling down her eyes.

["Don't cry! don't cry ! Do not cry !"], she chided herself.

She didn't want to cry because if she cry then it meant that her heart has already accepted the fact that her husband has walked away from her.

But as helpless as she was, soon her face became tear stricken.

She started wailing in agony as she held a pillow to her face to drown out her voice. She wanted to rip her heart out as she could the agony slowly seeping in her body.

["Is this how I should feel ?"]
