Noella's POV
It was Sunday afternoon. I was sitting on my bed, reading Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
I just love how Lara Jean’s quirkiness and clumsiness are so relatable in real life.
And then there’s Peter Kavinsky. God he’s so hot! I just love this book very much.
Now you might be thinking I’m some bookworm. I’m not. Reading is just a way for me to pass time.
“Noella, can I come in?” My aunt asked by knocking on my door.
“Yeah.” I said without raising my head from the book. The door opened with a click.
“How do I look?” she asked, with excitement filled in her voice.
When I looked up at her, I was amused. She was wearing an ivory floral maxi dress, with red and peach coloured roses designed on it. Her dark brown hair was let down with curls at the end.
“Oh my god, Karla! You look so beautiful. What's the occasion?” I asked, with hands on my mouth with awe.
“Thank you, dear. I met one of my college friend in the bar last night and he asked me out. I am, uh, going on a date with him.” she said, blushing. I squealed excitedly. And went towards her and hugged her tightly.
“I am so happy for you!” I said grinning. “Yeah. But I am really nervous. What if I act weirdly? What if I get lost for words? What if-“
“Breathe!” I cut her in between.
“Everything’s going to be fine. Just be yourself and I am sure everything will turn out to be alright.” I said by squeezing her hands gently in the process of reassuring her.
She took a deep breath and smiled.
“Alright. I am going now. If you need anything, call me, okay?” she said.
“Don’t worry about me. Just enjoy your date. I’ll be fine.” I replied, smiling and she nodded.
Once again we hugged and went downstairs. Once she was out of the door, I locked the door.
Wow! She got a date. Hope everything turns out right for her this time, unlike her last relationship.
As soon as I went upstairs, my phone rang. It was Spencer. All the memories of Friday night came rushing to my mind.
I came to learn that he worked at a bookstore.
He gave me company all the way to my residence, saying it was too late and it was not safe for me to be on the road that late.
I rejected, but he was too stubborn on his decision.
We just talked about normal stuff and about our likes and dislikes.
Apparently, I came to know that we were quite the opposites.
Like for instance, he was an extrovert and I was an introvert, well, an ambivert, to be honest.
He loved reading and I, well, not so much. I just loved listening to him talk about all the different books he had read and wanted to read.
He also loved cooking. And my opinion on cooking, well, I am not so very fond of it. Probably the last thing on my preference list.
So yeah, we were very opposite. But still, whenever I was with him, I always felt that vibe, that immediate connection, you know.
A grin crept up my lips on that thought.
