Noella's POV
"Mom, will you always be by my side?" I asked her. "Why will I ever leave my precious girl alone? I'll always be here darling." Her sweet voice and heart-warming smile provided me a secured feeling.
She then kissed me on my forehead and hugged me. I entwined my hands around her waist. But then suddenly I felt something wet in my hands. When I pulled away, my hands were covered in blood and my mother was laying there in a pool of blood. Tears were gushing out my eyes. I tried to wake her up, but she didn't budge. By seeing the blood of hers in my hands, my hands started trembling in fear and I collapsed on the floor.
My eyes shot open and I felt a hammering pain in my head which caused my eyes to shut tightly.
I placed my hands on the temples of my head. But then I noticed I had thin tubes attached to my arm and bandage wrapped around my head. I took a look around and I noticed my aunt sleeping on a chair beside me. I took into the room I was in which felt like a hospital room. I looked down and I was dressed in a hospital robe. I was definitely in a hospital. But, why?
"Karla?" I called out my aunt in a dry, low voice. She slowly opened her eyes and as she saw me, tears formed in her eyes.
"Thank god Noella, you woke up! How are you feeling dear?" Concern evident in her voice. She helped sit up. "My head hurts like hell. But what happened to me? Why am I in a hospital room?" I asked, confused.
I honestly don't remember what the hell happened to me and why my head hurts so much. As she was about to respond, Juliette entered the room. Juliette?
"Ms.Garnet, do you-" Her expression changed from calm to shock as soon as she saw me. "Oh my god, Noella! You're awake! I'll call the doctor." She said and rushed outside.
"What's going on Karla?" I asked her. She just started sobbing again. I took her hands in mine and calmed her down. The doctor entered the room and checked me.
"Hello, Noella. How are you feeling?" she asked me politely, smiling. "Not very well, my head hurts very much and I am feeling a bit dizzy." I replied to her, honestly. "Don't worry, I'll write down some pills. It will help with the pain and dizziness." She said as she wrote something down on the paper. "Just take rest and let me know if you have any trouble, okay?" I nodded smiling. She handed the paper to my aunt and left. "I'll be right back with the pills, okay?" she stated, cupping my cheeks. I nodded.
As she left, Juliette, Eric and Spencer entered the room. Juliette took a seat on a chair beside me, while the boys just stood there. I took a look at Juliette. Her eyes were red and puffed. She held my hands and started to cry. Eric came beside her consoled her. "Will someone tell me why I am in a fucking hospital for crying out loud?" I demanded. No one spoke for a second. "You were being attacked, Noella." Eric stated, sadness hinting in his voice.
What the fuck? I was attacked?
My eyes came out of the sockets as last night's events came rushing to my mind. Not being able contain anymore, tears started flowing down my cheeks like Niagara Falls. Spencer came and held me. He rubbed my back. "It's okay, Noella. Don't worry we are here now." He said, trying to assure me. But I shook him off.
"No, it's not okay, I was being assaulted! How can you say that it's okay?" I exclaimed in between my sobs. The room got silent for a moment and I heard something drop. As I looked up, I saw my aunt who looked like she saw some ghost and the pills she bought were on the floor.
Juliette got up and held her. She took her and made her sit on the chair. "How? When?" Juliette asked. "I got drunk and-and this guy- I just can't!" I shook my head and sobbed more as I was not able to explain what happened. I just couldn't.
