Noella's POV

I was standing in front of an old abandoned building, waiting for the signal from my 'father', my teary eyes waiting to see and my shaky hands craving to hold my daughter. As I was standing there alone, I recalled Spencer's words which provided me with little hope.

'Don't you worry Love. We have to save Esme. And we will definitely save our daughter. I am here for you. I am not leaving you this time or ever. Trust me.' Those were his words.

I just nodded showing no expressions. But my heart was telling me to trust him again. To let him into my life again. I wanted to believe that he has changed for good now, but my brain was telling me the opposite.

While I stood there in the conflict, a guy approached me. He was tall, around 6'5". He wasn't that muscular but he sure did seem like he could fight multiple people at a time. He looked at me from head to toe, making me feel uncomfortable under his gaze.

"Are you Noella?" I put up a confident look and nodded.

I was of course scared. I possibly was not aware of what these people were capable of. But I couldn't show that on my face. I had to stay brave, stay strong for my Esme.

Esme.

I don't know what her state is right now. That six-year-old got stuck in this fucking mess because of her mother.

I followed the guy through the dark stairway. It was sunny outside but it still managed to be dark in this area. The figure ahead of me stopped outside a room which seemed like a warehouse.

As I took my shaky steps ahead, I managed to see some light but the darkness did not seem to fade away. There was another room which I was being forced to step into.

There I saw her. My daughter, lying on the floor. As I was about to run to her I was being held strongly by two men. I screamed at them to let go of me but they couldn't care less.

"Let the poor woman go. She is just a mother who desperately wants to meet her daughter." A voice came from the entrance of that small room. As soon as I was free, I went near Esme taking her in my lap.

"Esme, baby please wake up! Mom is here baby. Please wake up!" I tried waking her up with my blurry eyes. My lips were quivering and my throat was paining with the amount of tears that were falling down my cheeks which were staining Esme's shirt as I was holding her closely.

"She will wake up in a few, relax." A man appeared in front of me. He was a person in his late 50s. He was wearing a black suit and stood there with both his hands in his pockets.

"She is a sweet girl. She immediately drank up the milk that I gave her. I think you should have taught her not to take things from strangers." He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Why did you do this to her? To me? What wrong have I done to you?" I screamed at him, clenching my jaw.

"You were born. That was your mistake." He sneered. "What do you mean? Don't play with words." I demanded.

"Okay I'll tell you a story. Listen carefully."

Charles' POV

"Man, you are a lucky guy, you know that Reynolds? Lydia is a smart and caring woman. I am happy for you." Steve said.

I was, indeed, lucky. Marrying the love of your life is a beautiful thing. So to celebrate my engagement, my best friend and I decided to get to a bar. We ordered drinks and chatted for a while, as it had been a long time since we caught up as Steve.
