I go into the stadium with Jordan and Rebecca. We usually go in with him when he has a match day and watch them train before the game.
Rebecca has a Henderson Liverpool Jersey on the same as me but she is wearing black jeans with hers where as I am wearing loose, ripped, light blue denim shorts. Jordan has his arm round Rebecca's and it makes me think of when Adam would do the same to me. I look down at my black air forces with a longing feeling tingling my fingers.
An arm wraps round my shoulders making me jump. "Well, if it isn't my favourite Henderson." The voice lifts my mood immediately.
"Oi, I heard that Trent." Jordan pretends to be offended by him not being the "favourite" Henderson.
"Just merely stating the truth, Hendo." Trent defends himself and I get a huge whiff of his strong, gorgeous smelling cologne, and my heart picks up its pace as I really become aware with the fact that he has his arm round me.
"You alright?" I ask my best friend and pick at my fingers sheepishly.
"Amazing now that I get to see your beautiful face." Trent flirts.
"You are so full of yourself." I shake my head and bite my lip but I can't hide the beetroot colour that now coats my cheeks.
We enter the stadium and Trent removes his arm from my shoulders and, for some reason, I find myself missing his touch. "I see you are wearing your brother's jersey."
"Always."
"Not too sure about always now, Nat."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Never you mind." Trent winks and him and my brother go off into the changing rooms leaving me confused as to why he is being slightly flirtatious towards me.
"So you and Trent?" Rebecca raises her eyebrows at me and has a smirk across her face.
"No way, we're just friends."
"That's what they all say but it won't be long before you two realise that you are practically made for each other, Nat," She links arms with me and we walk down the corridors of the stadium. I chew at the inside of my mouth as I listen to the patter of our feet against the hard floor. "Oh I am sorry, I forgot. Look I am just saying that you and Trent already have a good friendship with each other when you haven't exactly known each other for that long and when you find someone like that they are usually someone special in your life." Rebecca explains herself and I can tell that she feels bad about Adam.
I take a deep breath. "Me and Trent are just friends, I understand why you may think that we could be something more, but honestly I can't have a relationship now and I don't think that I will be able to have one in ages. Six years I spent with Adam and I can't move on that quickly, Becks, no matter how gorgeous and kind Trent Alexander-Arnold is."
* * *
When the match starts, I can't take my eyes off of Trent. I notice the little things about him as I watch him jog about the pitch. He licks his lips when he is concentrating and thinking about what he is going to do. He puts his hands on his hips when he steps up to take free kicks and he scratches his eyebrow when he gets nervous.
You notice a lot more about people when you actually pay close attention to them, like Jordan strokes his nose when he thinks about something and Adam use to tickle his ear when he was nervous.
In no time, Liverpool are two nil up with Trent assisting both goals. I cheer at both and so does Rebecca from next to me. By the end of the match it is a victory of three nil to Liverpool and me and Rebecca wait for Jordan to get out of the changing rooms after the match.
