You Need Me

This is the Dream

The doors burst open and Trent sprints through. His eyes meet mine and he speedily walks over. "Oh my God, Natalie, I am so sorry. I am so, so sorry that I wasn't here," He wraps his arms around me and I wrap my arms around him tightly taking in the smell of my fiancé. It calms me and I close my eyes loving the feeling of his arms around me. He moves back and sits on the bed facing me. "I can't believe I wasn't here, I knew that I shouldn't of had my phone on silent. I am so sorry, babes, I am..."

"Trent, it's fine it wasn't your fault." I grab his hands and kiss his lips with happiness.

Trent pulls away with a slight frown on his face. "Hang on, where is our baby?" He looks behind him and Kyle is standing by a window with our baby girl.

"Kyle has here whilst I lay down for a bit." We both look at my best friend as he stands by a window to the ward talking to the little girl in his arms.

Trent stands up and goes over to him. They exchange words and Trent carefully takes his daughter from Kyle. His eyes light up and stare down at our baby with shock and complete love. He comes over and sits next to me on the bed. "Hello, beautiful." He strokes her cheek and she lets out a yawn. He wraps the blanket around her tighter as her eyes close tighter. "Nat, you did it, you've had our first baby." His brown eyes are looking at me with happiness as he holds his baby in his arms.

"I did, I can't believe that this is her, Trent, this is our daughter, Charlotte Alexander-Arnold." I say as I get handed my baby. I cradle her in my arms and as I kiss her forehead the door opens and incomes Rebecca and Jordan with their three kids.

Rebecca gasps and Jordan is holding their son whilst the girls hang around his legs. "Oh my gosh, she's beautiful." Rebecca goggles at the little baby in my arms and her eyes sparkle with joy.

"She looks just like Trent." I say and hold her out towards Rebecca.

She takes Charlotte from me and walks over to my brother grinning down at her. Jordan smiles also and he kisses his niece's forehead. "Well done, you two, you have got a lovely daughter here." He gives me a look of admiration and I smile weakly back letting out a yawn.

They stay another ten minutes before Rebecca says for them all to let me rest. Me, Kyle and Trent are left and Trent hugs Kyle. "Thanks man, for looking after her, couldn't think of anyone better to be with her when I was not. Honestly, thanks." My fiancé pulls away from him.

"No problem mate, I want to say thank you for making her happy and keeping her on her feet. I'll be hoping to see you guys soon." He comes over to me and kisses mine and Charlotte's cheeks.

"Bye, Kyle, thank you so much. I will call you soon." I bid my goodbyes to my friend and he exits the ward.

"How long are we gonna be here for then?" Trent kisses my forehead and takes her from me so I can lay down more.

"I think we'll be able to leave tomorrow evening so we can get your parents to visit if you want. I believe they'd want to come and see their new grandchild."

"Yeah of course they would, I will call them in a bit. What about your parents?"

"We'll let them know and it's up to them whether or not they want to visit, they probably will." I rub my eyes and let out a massive yawn.

"Of course they will they're Charlotte's grandparents," He kisses my forehead again and runs his fingers through my hair as we both gaze down at our baby daughter with love and happiness. "Do you need anything? Food, drink or..."

"I'm fine, Trent, don't worry." I sigh and close my eyes.

"Okay, babes."

I slowly fall asleep to the soothing hand of my fiancé that runs through my hair.

The next day the nurse gives us the all clear to go home and we get our baby into her car chair. She is fast asleep and I wrap the blankets over the top of her before doing her little seatbelt up.

I ensure that she is all clipped in and get into the passenger seat with a sigh. "Right let's go home and get her settled in." Trent says with a massive grin.

I return it as reality hits me. We have a child and we are bringing her to her home for the first time.

Trent begins driving home and I can't get rid of the smile that is spread across my face.

Trent's parents are gonna visit when we get home as they said that it would be best for them to do so instead of at the hospital. My parents are travelling down tomorrow and they said that they are gonna bring a present for each other us. They also said that they're gonna make dinner so that me and Trent don't have to worry about that.

In no time, I am getting out of the car to collect my daughter from her car seat. She is completely silent as she is still sleeping.

I smile at her with love as I gaze down at her in her little pink hat and a little bear that Kyle got her from the gift shop back at the hospital.

Me and Trent begin to make our way into our home but this time it feels different. Like I am walking to somewhere new, somewhere where I don't know. As I step into the house with my baby in my arms, I take in the familiar smell of my home. "Welcome to your new home, Charlotte." I stroke her cheek and Trent shuts the front door behind me.

"Come on let's take her to her little bed to let her rest, then me and you can try and get a quick nap in before she wakes us up." My fiancé kisses my head and walks ahead of me up the stairs towards our room.

I lay our baby down in her bed which is opposite ours, Trent pulls her blanket up to her chin and she moves her clenched hand slightly as she stirs in her sleep.

We smile as we look down at our daughter. "Isn't she beautiful?" I whisper.

"Absolutely beautiful, babes. I can't believe that she is finally here."

"Neither can I, it honestly feels like a dream."

"It's because this is the dream, Natalie Henderson, starting the family that we have been waiting to have for the past nine months."

"This is the dream, me, you, and our little Alexander-Arnold."
