"Trent." I try to pull him back but he just stands threateningly in Franco's face.
"I don't think that it is appropriate to speak to her like that."
"Why not? She's a pretty girl and I don't see any rules against being nice to her." Franco has a smirk on his face which provokes and aggravates Trent even more.
"You know that you are being more than nice, mate." Trent prods the boy's chest.
"Trent, calm down." I feel useless as I try to calm Trent and stop him from doing anything stupid.
"Yes, Trent, listen to her." Franco holds his hands up by his head to show that he doesn't want any trouble.
"I am just warning yous that's all, now I am sure that you can finish up here without opening that gob of yours." Trent prods his chest again before going back to leaning on the helmet rack.
I send an apologetic look to Franco and his face is now red from embarrassment and humiliation. I fold my arms and go over to Trent. "Was that really necessary?" I mumble so Franco doesn't hear.
"I couldn't just stand to the side whilst he said things like that to you," Trent defends himself. I roll my eyes and tap my foot on the floor getting even more pissed off by the second. "I'm sorry, Nat, but that boy over there is an idiot..."
"Save it, Arnold." I say with firmness in my voice, I turn away and get my phone out to check all my messages.
I have one from Kyle.
Kyle- is everything going ok? x
Me- going fine, no problems so far, he is just about to check the inside and we should be back to finish up the paperwork x
Kyle- okay see you in a moment x
When Franco gets out of the car from checking everything he tells us that everything is perfect and the three of us head back to the meeting room where I finish signing the paperwork. "Right, thank you for coming. Here are the spare keys to the Porsche so you can take it to Italy." Kyle thanks and passes the keys to the ginger-haired man.
"Thank you, I'll see you three in Rome. Good luck Miss Henderson." The man nods respectfully at me standing up.
"Cheers."
"See you in Italy." Franco winks at me before the two exit the room.
Trent tuts again from next to me and I send him a look. "Right, Nat, you can go home if you want and get as much rest as possible before we go to Rome same with you Trent. I'll see you both Thursday at the airport. Don't be late." Kyle points his finger at us both and slams his folder shut.
"See ya, Kyle, I promise we won't be late." I give my best friend a big hug goodbye.
"See you Thursday, mate." He nods towards Trent and Trent nods back.
"Yep, see yous then, mate."
Kyle leaves which makes me and Trent alone. "Come on, I'll give you a lift home." I tell him and we go out to my car.
Halfway through the journey back to his place Trent finally speaks up. "Look I am sorry about what happened with that Italian bloke."
"Don't worry yourself about it." I shake my head as I turn a corner.
"But I am worried, that Franco just wants to get into your pants..."
"I am gonna stop you right there, I said don't worry about it, Trent, so please can you just shut up about it. Besides, it ain't up to you who I flirt with or who I go out with." I shut him down but it doesn't stop speaking up about it.
"I know that it isn't but I don't wanna see you get hurt by some total prat."
I pull up outside his house and pull the handbrake on. "I'm a big girl, Trent, now go on you probably have some stuff to sort out. I'll text you about Thursday."
"Okay, fine. See you Thursday." Trent hastily gets out of the car and slams the car door behind him. I huff and bash my head on my steering wheel feeling like a total plonker.
I know that it want exactly the biggest argument, well sort of argument, with Trent but the thought of not being on "good terms" with him makes me feel upset and guilty.
* * *
I wake up at around half seven on the Thursday and I go and have a long shower to get myself all fresh and prepared for the for sure long day ahead of me.
The clothes I pick out are loose shorts and Trent's huge, baby blue hoody that I still haven't given back, on purpose. The best thing is that it still smells like him. I slip on white air forces and put my hair in a high ponytail.
Me and Trent have got back on really good terms and have been texting each other non stop. Me and him are so close now and I couldn't be more happy about it.
I only fill in my eyebrows, coat my eyelashes in mascara and apply a thin layer of shiny lip gloss onto my lips.
I am pleased with my simplistic look as I do a couple of selfies in the mirror to post on my insta.
I post my favourite selfie with the caption: got good feelings about the coming week 😏
Pings come from my phone as people like and comment.
Trent comments: looking gorgeous in my hoody babes 💕😜
Jordan comments: good luck lil sis 😘
I turn my phone on silent so I don't get any more interruptions as I go through my luggage and triple check that I have everything that I want.
Over the past couple of days I have spent so much on so many outfits for Rome, not to mention so many bikinis for the pool.
There's one thing I forgot. The picture of me and Adam on our fifth anniversary. It was a week before he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
I rub my finger across his face. His blue eyes have such joy smothering them yet bags rest underneath them which reminds me of the fact that he was ill but we didn't know.
I put the photo into my suitcase and take my case to my car so I am ready for when I need to go and pick Trent up.
At half ten I lock up my flat and head back to my car. I drive to his house and park in his driveway.
I ring his doorbell and I hear it ring out through his house. The door opens a couple of seconds after to reveal a grinning Trent. "Hi, Nat." He lets me in because he said that he'll show me his dogs this time.
"So, this is the Natalie Henderson that my little bro has been banging on about," An older version of Trent comes out of the living room and holds out a hand for me to shake. I blush at the fact that Trent talks about me. "Don't worry it's all good things, I'm Tyler Alexander-Arnold, Trent's big bro."
I shake Tyler's hand and smile politely. "Nice to meet you." I turn to Trent and stand on my tiptoes expectingly.
At first Trent frowns until a look of realisation crosses his face. "The dogs," He breathes and chuckles whilst shaking his head. "They're through here." He goes over to a room and opens the door. Inside are three little French bulldogs. They all waddle over to me.
"Doggies!" I squeal and sit onto the floor.
They all jump onto me and I get knocked onto the floor. I giggle as they climb over me as I lay on the soft carpet. "What are you doing?" Trent laughs and shakes his head at me.
"Doggies!" I squeal again.
