Me and Trent head up towards the hospital from the car park, he is on crutches though as it is only the second of January, so only a week since his injury. There has been slight improvement in his ankle in terms of the swelling but he can't put pressure on it or it'll swell up like a balloon again.
Today is the first scan and I am excited to see our baby for the first time. I am now almost officially four months pregnant and even though it's only been about a week since my bump began to show, it has got just that teensy bit bigger.
We find our waiting room and I help Trent with his crutches and he slowly takes a seat. "How is it?" I ask and take a seat next to him letting out a sigh.
It's nine o'clock in the morning and I'm so tired, it's the earliest scan that we could get and usually the earlier we go the less likely we will be spotted by the paps. "It's fine." Trent waves me off but I can tell that it is causing him some pain.
"Have you had your ibuprofen and paracetamol?"
"I haven't eaten yet so I couldn't take the ibuprofen but I did take the paracetamol, it hasn't helped much but I am fine don't worry." He kisses the side of my head and I don't bother him anymore. I bounce my leg up and down waiting for my name to be called.
My eyes wonder about the waiting room and, as I was expecting, there are many pregnant women sitting in their own chairs. Some have rather big baby bumps others don't really have on at all. I don't really know how to feel about gaining a huge baby bump if I am honest, I do know that I am rather excited to watch my belly grow and to then give birth so I can watch my and Trent's child grow up. Perhaps we will have more children together, I really hope so.
Two children is what I have wanted ever since I was a little girl, nothing more and nothing less. Mum had me, Jordan and Jody, my older sister. I don't see her much now, she lives locally near our parents whereas me and Jordan moved to Liverpool. He moved to pursue his football career at Liverpool Football Club, I on the other hand moved here more out of spite, to prove to my mum that driving is what I want to do and I am serious about it.
I lived with Jordan for the first year, but at age seventeen I moved out and got myself a flat which I stayed in until I moved in with Trent.
"Miss Henderson." My name is called and I stand up.
I grab Trent's crutches and help him up before the two of us make our way over to the nurse that called my name. She has dark brown hair that is tied tightly into a high ponytail and black glasses that sit upon her nose over her blue eyes. Her face breaks into a smile as she greets me. "Hi." I offer her a handshake which she gladly accepts.
"Good morning, Miss Henderson, I am Talia Stewart and I will be your midwife throughout your pregnancy and when baby arrives. Would you like to follow me please and we will get your scan underway." Talia is a cheerful girl and looks about mid-twenties. She has big brown eyes that sparkle and her blond hair is tied into a high ponytail.
She leads us into a dark room and another woman is sat at a computer. She too smiles kindly. "Good morning, would you mind laying down upon that bed and lifting your top up so we can see your belly please. I am Vanessa Huckleberry." The lady at the desk is a bit older than Talia and has her curly hair pinned back from her face.
I nod my head and climb onto the examining bed where I lay down before slowly lifting up my top to show my baby bump.
"Would you like seat, sir?" Talia questions Trent and he too nods his head. "Here you go have this one." She pulls a spinny chair from under a desk and Trent crutches over to it.
He lets out a sigh as he sits down. "So, Miss Henderson, have you been experiencing anything that you believe to be abnormal during your pregnancy so far?" The curly haired woman inquires and comes over to me.
"Nope, none at all, everything has been fine." I look over at Trent nervously and he nods back at me reassuringly.
"Okay, I'm just gonna put some of the jelly on your belly, it may be a bit cold at first." Vanessa chuckles before applying some cool jell to my stomach. Talia passes a scanner to her and she places it upon my tummy before beginning to move it around.
It feel weird as she moves slowly across and it tickles slightly. Then I see it, a baby on the monitor. That's mine and Trent's baby. Our baby.
"Here is your baby, it's looking absolutely healthy and from what I can see nothing is wrong. Oh wow, do you guys want to know what gender your baby is?"
I look over at Trent. "Yeah, if that's okay?"
"Of course it is, you two are having a baby girl."
My eyes light up and so does Trent's. "We are having a little girl!" He seems a lot happier than I anticipated that he would be if we were gonna have a girl.
"I thought you would have wanted a boy?" I chuckle at him.
"I've grown up with just brother's and I suppose I am just tired of having little boys to look after." Trent shrugs his shoulders and stared at the monitor with joy.
"You only had to look after Marcel, it's Tyler that would've had to look after you and Marcel and I cannot imagine what a hassle that would've been."
"Shush." He sticks his tongue out at me and the two ladies laugh.
"Well congratulations to you both and would you like some ultrasound pictures to take home?" Talia claps her hands.
"Yes please." I answer smiling widely.
We are having a girl!

Me and Trent lay down on our bed and I hold the pictures in my hands with a smile stuck to my face.
His arms snake around my waist and he lays his head upon my shoulder. "I actually cannot believe that we are gonna have a girl." Trent tightens his grip around me.
"Careful, Trent that hurt a bit." I wince as a dull pain hits my stomach.
"Sorry, babes. I'm just happy." He kisses my jaw and I turn so I can kiss his lips.
"I couldn't be happier, Trent Alexander-Arnold. What shall we call our baby?"
"I quite like the name Charlotte you know, I was thinking about it when we got home and that name just popped into my head."
"Charlotte Alexander-Arnold, that's a lovely name."
