Now I thought being six months pregnant were bad, I am now nine months pregnant and honestly is like being six months pregnant but two times as big and ten times the stress on my feet.
I look to my right as I lay in bed and see that Trent isn't there, he must have gone to training. I huff to myself for not waking up and saying goodbye, like a loving fiancé should, before waddling out of my bedroom and beginning to ever so slowly step down the stairs. But something banging against my stomach causes me to sit down on one of the steps.
My hand goes to my stomach and I take in a sharp breath. "Not now please, sweetheart, I am hungry and kicking mummy isn't necessary." I whisper to my baby as another kick thuds against my belly again and I get back up not caring anymore. As I walk to the kitchen to get something to eat I rub circles on my stomach as if that would help my baby stop kicking me.
A stabbing pain shoots through my stomach and I grab the kitchen side. I take deep breaths in and out feeling confused as another one of them sharp pains hits me. Then it happens, warm liquid drops onto the floor from me and my eyes go wide in realisation.
I am in labour.
As quickly as I possibly can I go into the living room where my phone is and immediately call Trent. "Please pick up, please, please....Shit!" I collapse in pain onto the floor and grasp my stomach. The phone continues ringing but there is no reply. I call the next person I can think of and the contractions begin to get more painful and more frequent.
"Hello, Nat, you okay?" Kyle's voice thankfully echoes down the phone.
"Kyle..." But that's all I manage to say before another contraction cuts me off.
"Nat, what's going on? Are you okay? You sound like your in pain."
"My water....it broke!" I grunt and then yell in agony.
"Oh my God, stay right where you are, I will call an ambulance and you call Trent."
"Trent didn't pick up, I can't get hold of him."
"Right call Rebecca then, the ambulance and I will be there in two minutes just hold on." He hangs up to call an ambulance and I call Rebecca holding my phone in my sweaty and shaking hands.
She also picks up. "Nat, what's wrong?"
I pause and hold in a grunt as another one hits me again. "The baby is coming, I can't get hold of Trent." I panic and tears stream down my face.
"Oh shit! Right, have you called an ambulance?" Her voice is full of surprise and panic also.
"Kyle has and they're coming."
"Okay, and Trent isn't picking up?"
"No." I say through gritted teeth and lay back further trying to sooth the unbearable pain.
"Right, stay on the phone I'm going to the training grounds to get Trent and Jordan," I hear lots of commotion on the other end of the phone, I hear her talking to her children. This somewhat calms me down as I hear her daughters. I listen as she leaves her house and I hear the car engine start up. "Natalie, I want you to listen to me, don't stop taking deep breaths. I have got my kids and am going to get Trent, they will meet you at the hospital and don't worry because we will be there for you."
The door to the house opens and the Kyle bursts in and he is on the phone. "Kyle is here." I tell Rebecca.
"I'm gonna hang up now then."
I don't manage to say anything else I just drop my phone on the floor and hold onto my stomach screwing my eyes up. "Okay, Nat, it's going to be fine, the crew are on their way okay," I feel him grab my hand and I scream as the pain gets worst. "It's okay, it's okay. Just hold on, Nat, just hold on. The ambulance is coming."
