Chapter 16

Emma's P.O.V

I entered my house, closing the door as quietly as possible. Unfortunately it wasn't quiet enough though.

"Where have you been?" my dad said as he stepped out of the sitting room doorway, my mum following closely behind him.

"I told you, I was going to Calum's after school today." I replied.

"Is that why Calum appeared at the door asking if you where feeling better?" My mum questioned.

"I...I went to Charlottes for a bit before but I wasn't feeling well so I told Calum that I wasn't up to going out with him. He must of thought I was at home." I quickly made up a lie.

If my parents knew I was with Luke they would have been extremely suspicious. They still didn't know that Calum cheated on me and we broke up for a bit. I couldn't tell them, our families are so close and they adore Cal. If they were to find out I was at Luke's house alone they'd probably dis-own me for going behind Calum's back.

"So why did you just tell us you were with Calum and now you've said you weren't with him." My dad said, sounding unsatisfied with my answer.

"Um...Calum, Michael, Ashton, Luke and Louise all came round to Charlotte's. Calum must have come here first not knowing I was there." Again, quick thinking is needed.

My parents looked between each other, deciding whether to believe me or not. Thankfully they bought it and let me go.

I entered my room. I threw my bag and jacket on my desk chair and put my phone on charge at my bedside table. I kicked my shoes of into my wardrobe and grabbed one of Calum's oversized band t-shirts he'd given to me. I then headed into my bathroom to have a shower and get ready for bed.

Once I had showered, changed and brushed my teeth, I headed back into my room. As I entered, towel drying my hair, my phone beeped. I quickly lifted it up to see that I had received a snapchat from Luke.

As soon as I saw the picture, my heart almost fell out my arse. The photo was of Calum and Ashton sitting on Luke's bed and my underwear between them.

Luke: I think you forgot something...
Emma: shit!!
Luke: Luckily he doesn't know they're yours
Emma: For both our sakes, so am I
That can never happen again...
It was a mistake, I can't lie to Cal.

I didn't wait for a reply from Luke, I didn't want to get into any drama. I just turned my phone off before climbing into my bed, trying not to think of my evening with Luke, even though it's pretty impossible.
