heejin gasped as her cheeks suddenly flushed a light shade of pink. luckily due to the dark, it went unnoticed. but what was that sensation she just felt? her hurt suddenly felt heavy, but in a good way. and her breath was short and quick. her head felt light as she stared at hyunjin.
she suddenly regained her conscious, as her eyes lifted towards hyunjins confused yet patient face. it seemed that hyunjin could tell heejin was thinking. "huh- oh- yeah i'm okay..!" heejin replied, quickly bowing at a perfect 90° angle. hyunjin chuckled in response, "i thought we were somewhat friends, heejin, no need to be so formal." she smiled, as heejins cheeks now flushed a bright red. this time, it was noticeable. "are you blushi-" hyunjin asked, before heejin cut her off. "nooooooo" she said, stretching out the o. she placed her hands on her cheeks, the red colour now growing from embarrassment. "if you say so." she heard hyunjin speak.
there was a few seconds of awkward yet comfortable silence. heejin was looking at the ground whilst hyunjin swayed her body from side to side as she stared up to the moon.
"the sky looks pretty tonight." hyunjin said, causing heejin to look at her, and then up to the sky. "i'd have to agree with that." she shortly replied, admiring the moon and stars that illuminated their 2 small, pale faces. "do you perhaps... want to stargaze with me?" hyunjin then asked, facing both her head and body towards heejin.
not going to lie, but it was quite unexpected. though it sounded perfect, plus it would get that harassment and near death experience she was just in off of her mind. so she simply nodded. "why not." hyunjin smiled, as she grabbed heejins hand and lead the way up to a beautiful cliff.
—————
"wow i never knew this place existed." heejin said, brushing the back of her skirt and sitting down into the thick green grass. "well, not many people come here i suppose." hyunjin replied. "so is it like a secret spot?" "maybe, i don't really know, i just used to come here when i was a teenager. it really helped me to get over my crush that rejected me." said hyunjin, the stars glowing in her eyes as heejin stared at her face.
the view of both the stars and hyunjin were absolutely breath taking. from this angle, you could see the sharp edge of hyunjins round yet pointed nose, and her rose pink luscious lips that curved into perfect semi circles. her long eyelashes that curled up, some of the edges lightly hitting her monolids. her round cheeks that glowed from the moonlight, and her hair that was gently brushed by the small yet cool breeze. it was a rare sight, but so beautiful.
"done staring?" hyunjin smiled, her head turning towards heejin. "oh uhm, yeah," heejin nervously giggled. "the night sky just makes you 10x prettier." hyunjins grin widened at the response. "thanks, i don't get that a lot, sweating in a small office each day doesn't exactly make you look like the prettiest person." "i'm sure you do look pretty." heejin disagreed with hyunjin.
it was really peaceful out there. it was perfect. and heejin and hyunjin were actually bonding. heejin wasn't putting up her mature ceo act, and hyunjin was putting on an attitude. it was just like the old days. the other life time.
"oh speaking of work," hyunjin started to talk again, "how's the company doing, you know, after the whole collab was suddenly cancelled." heejin sighed. "well, i'm not sure, as soon as i heard i rushed to the hospital for yerim. but my workers haseul and vivi are handling it. they're probably still in the office too. i should've visited them before i went home i guess." hyunjin nodded. "don't worry, i'm sure they're doing fine. and if you didn't go straight home then we wouldn't be admiring this view." "i guess your right." heejin replied, still looking at hyunjin.
"you know." heejin said, making hyunjin state back at her with a confused face. "it's still always on my mind," she continued, "what do you think i said when i rejected you. we still don't know." hyunjin chuckled. "i completely forgot about that. i've only been focusing on the recent ones. we seem to be following our old life's story line." she gave heejin a small, sad smile. "it really seems like the case, so you'll just have to reject me again, won't you." hyunjin looked away, burying her face into her knees. "it's totally not like we like each other right? so when it happens it shouldn't been a big deal." she continued, her speech slightly muffled due to her current position. heejin just watched, allowing hyunjin to speak her mind before she inquiries. hyunjin picked on a few pieces of grass. "but, for some reason, it's already a big deal. i don't want my heart broken, again, especially by you." "well then let's not let that happen." hyunjin immediately looked up toward the brown haired girl. "we won't let the same thing happen, it's a new life. why should we let it happen." hyunjin was quite speechless, she had no idea what heejin was planning. she couldn't even think of something to say. "i can love you in another life time, and this lifetime is now."
