problems are solved, none the less, there's always a misunderstanding between two friends. sometimes relationships aren't just meant to be, and sometimes they are. waiting for something will never help you. but then why, would you wait a whole lifetime?
hyunjin coughed into her hand as she gulped nervously. she breathed in heavily, remember all the past events that had led up to now. and to think it was all worth it, well she'll just have to see from heejin's response.
ever since that day, in the rain, her ruined picnic date. hyunjin realised that she was never as selfless as she had thought. both her and her past self thought waiting over 100 years just for one person was the most selfless thing ever. but alas, it was only a small fraction of it. she never seemed to come to the senses that all she did was things for herself. whatever would let her get in the lead, she'd take it. so perhaps sometimes, waiting was the best thing. it doesn't matter if time is wasted, because the journey was always worth it.
"hyunjin what are you so nervous for?" she asked, mentally slapping herself. she rolled her eyes, ignoring all negative energy coming from her mind. and then coughed again. "all this negative thinking is making me cough!" she screeched, still holding onto the mysterious bouquet of flowers full of all different colours in her hands. "well hyunjin, cherry up, this could be the greatest thing you'd hear all week!" finally, she mustered up the courage and knocked onto the brown wooden door standing in front of her. she immediately pulled away from the object, nervous as hell.
she shut her eyes tightly closed, hearing the echo of the old door creek open. 2 brown eyes peeped from around the small gap between the wall and the door. in an instant, an eye smile was created, and the door was flung right open! "oh my god, hyunjin! what bring you here?" in heejins hands was a fluffy ginger cat, hyunjin's favourite type. heejin became observant to the fact hyunjin aaa distracted by the feline cradled in between her arms. "oh my cat!" heejin exclaimed, looking down at the animal as well. "well remember that catastrophe i had with your cats, back then long ago and also a few months ago?" hyunjin nodded in reply, surprised that the brown haired girl had still remembered all this. "it sorta made me realised my love for the cute little things!" she squealed, smiling towards the cat. hyunjin smiled too, seeing heejin being happy was enough for her. "so back to my question," heejin said, putting the topic as to why hyunjin was exactly here back on track, "what are you doing here, and why do you have those flowers?" heejin showed a confused expression in her face, as she let go of the feline in her arms. "well, these are for you!" hyunjin shoved them towards the shorter girl, a small tint of pink appearing on her cheeks. oh how familiar this felt to her. heejin took them gladly, smelling them. "wow, these are so nice! i'll be sure to put them up, thanks for coming!" "wait- there's one more thing!" heading hyunjins voice made heejin turn back around, she was going to put the flowers in a pot, but it wouldn't hurt to wait a little longer. "heejin i, like you!" hyunjin blurted out, looking down to the ground in embarrassment. the atmosphere because silent. heejins mount stayed shut, as she stared at hyunjin. she couldn't form words, because she knew they were just going to tear hyunjin apart, again. finally, as if a year had past, heejin cleared her throat. "i'm sorry but" hyunjin looked up, locking eyes with heejin. "after everything," heejin continued to talk, a small amount of shame visible or her always-happy face. "after everything with gone to in this life, i don't think i'd be able to have a serious relationship with you. it's all good now because i no longer have to lie awake and worry about the past, or about you, since we sorted out our feelings. i said another chance, and you didn't ruin that one, instead i did." hyunjin gulped, a glossy layer of water forming beneath her eyes. heejin's breath hitched at the sight, as she lightly shook her head. she started now, and she had to continue. "i only see you as a friend now, and i am the one who messed it up this time. i'm always busy too. i don't deserve you. and i don't know if we can be with each other. i don't know if there's any point in saying this too, since it never worked out this time, but..." heejin approached closer to hyunjin, placing the colourful flowers back into the sobbing girls arms. she took a deep breath, saddened at the sight of her close friend. "who knows, you might always be a friend to me, in billions of years, but maybe, i can love you in another life time."——————
wow, we're we expecting that? probably. this ending is really sudden but the plot was already too far stretched out to extend even more, so i decided to rap everything up! i hope you enjoyed this book, and hopefully there will be another one coming out soon! thanks for reading this and thank you for your time! and also for waiting for this chapter!
