3 months had passed and Charlie was settling in. He had little blonde curls like Emily and dark brown eyes. It was the final day of Victoria's court case which would decide her fate. Emily was pacing around he house, they were going to the court to see the verdict and Daniel could see Emily was stressing.
DANIELS POV
"Em you need to calm down. Everything is going to be okay" I put my hand on her shoulder to stop her from pacing.
She started tapping her nails against the table and I sighed.
"You don't understand. You never do. You weren't there. Just leave me alone." She said as her eyes welled up with tears and she slipped out of her heels and walked down onto the beach.
I left her there for a while and then picked Charlie up and walked out to her, "We need to go now. We have to drop Charlie off at Charlottes before the trial."
She nodded and wiped away a tear, "Let's go" she turned to walk back to the house.
"Look, if it's too hard to be there today you don't have to go." I said hoping it would help her.
"No, I need to be there" she said and walked inside to grab her bag.
I put Charlie in the car and waited for Emily.
An hour later we were in the courtroom waiting for the verdict. The judge stood up and everyone was silent, "I sentence Victoria Grayson on account of the kidnapping of Emily Grayson to 3 years in prison. She may apply for parole after serving 15 months. Under no circumstances will she be allowed to have contact with the victim until her time has been served." He walked out of the courtroom and my mother was arrested. Emily didn't show any expression. She just stood up and walked outside and I followed her.
The press was piling up and shoving cameras and microphones in Emily's face. I caught up to her and pulled her close to me so her head was hidden from the press and I pushed past everyone to get to the car, we both got inside. She looked at me thankfully,
"I'm really sorry." I said as I leaned over and hugged her.
"It's not your fault." She kissed me gently and then sat back in her seat, "Let's go get our baby boy."
