DANIELS POV
We sat there for hours waiting. On the other sides of the room from each other until a doctor with a grim face walked into the room and over to me, David came over to me and I stood up and left Charlie on the chair beside me.
"What's the news?" I asked looking anxious.
"Both your girls are doing fine..." He managed a smile.
"Girls? She's a girl" I smiled and David smiled back at me
"Yes but she has to stay here for a few weeks to get her strength up, she was quite premature." He said, his tone turning serious again.
"Your daughter will be taken into Emilys room every few hours until your wife leaves. She's in there now and Emily is awake if you want to see her?" He asked and we both nodded. I carefully picked up Charlie in my arms and walked towards the room and inside where Emily was holding our baby girl.
I put Charlie on the chair and stood next to Emily looking at her, she was so beautiful. David looked at her and I handed him his granddaughter. His eyes welled up with tears and I looked at Emily but she looked sad, "You're going to leave us?" She asked with tears in her eyes.
"Em, I will never leave you. Something's happened but we can talk about that later, right now we have a beautiful daughter and we need to focus on what we are going to name her." I smiled and David handed her back to Emily.
"Can we just choose a name please!" I almost yelled three hours later, we'd gone from Amanda to Lily to Kylie to Olive to Natalie and now we were back at square one. Charlie started to open his eyes and David calmed him down as he spoke softly to us, "I still think she looks like a Lily."
"I like the idea of the letter L" she said with a small smile proud of making a decision and I rolled my eyes.
"Please just think of something" I said trying not to wake up Charlie.
"Lucy?"
"No too common"
"Leandra?"
"No"
"Lylas?"
"No"
"Laura?"
"N- Wait.. Laura" Emily looked down at our baby girl with light Brown eyes.
"I like Laura. What do you think Daniel?" She asked
"I love it." I smiled happy we'd come to an agreement.
"Laura it is. Hi Laura.." Emily played with her tiny fingers and I laughed.
I had no idea how I was going to let her go...
