Charlie was nine months old and looking more and more like Emily each day. Daniel and Emily had been on a bit of a rough patch lately because Daniel had to work a lot more and Emily was stressed with Charlie.
EMILYS POV
Daniel slammed the door as he walked inside and set his briefcase down and poured himself some scotch. I walked over to the bench and took the glass out of his hand.
"Give it back Em" he said with annoyance.
"No, what's wrong with you?" I asked.
"Nothing, just give me back my drink!" He raised his voice and tried to grab the drink.
"NO. NOT UNLESS YOU TELL ME WHATS UP." I yelled at him.
"WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL ME MATHIS WAS BACK IN TOWN?" He yelled back at me.
"What?" I looked at him with complete shock, "I had no-"
"Save it Emily" he grabbed the drink out of my hand and drank it all before walking outside.
"Daniel..." I tried to walk after him but Charlie was sitting on the floor. I quickly picked him up and put him in the bassinet and followed Daniel out to where he was sitting on the beach.
"Daniel, I honestly had no idea he was back." I said as I sat next to him, "How do you know he's back?" I asked curious.
"He came into the office today looking for you. Apparently the news of your kidnapping from 6 months ago just reached him." He said looking out at the ocean.
"What did you do?" I asked.
"I told him to get out before I called security." He said finally looking at me, "Did you call him back?"
I almost laughed, "Me? Daniel that's ridiculous"
He shrugged.
"Come on, are you worried he's gonna take me away from you?" I asked him teasingly.
"He did it once. He can do it again." Daniel said with a grim face.
I smiled and kissed his shoulder, "No one could ever take me away from you."
He looked at me seriously with worry, "You're so perfect and I've lost you too many times. I can't go through it again."
I put my head on his shoulder, "I promise you. You'll never lose me."
