I wandered through Nicks home, gazing up at the tall walls with high ceilings. Hundreds of pictures in fancy picture frames lined the hallways. Family photos, school pictures, and many others.
I tugged at the strings hanging down from the waistband of my sweatpants. My hair was feeling rather frizzier than normal, but it was ok.
Jessica laughs from the living room bounced through the hallways, almost louder than her normal giggle.
Kyle was no where to be found, thank goodness. Just the thought of being around him made me uncomfortable.
I didn't completely understand Jessica's thoughts on Kyle's looks. I wouldn't necessarily call him "hot", he was more your average emo dude.
The kitchen was the room that I always found myself wandering into. It wasn't quite as elegant as Jessica's, but it was still beautiful.
All of the cabinets had a more modern, darker feel than the rest of the house. It's was stunning when your eyes found the white marble counter tops. Great light fixtures covered the ceiling, lighting up the room in the most gorgeous way possible.
The fridge was full of everything I wanted, including apple juice. I poured myself a glass, and turned around to go sit at the dinging room table. Before I could even take a step, I rammed into someone. It was a tall figure wearing black high tops and a black Nirvana T shirt.
"Oh god," He said, stumbling backwards.
My glass of apple juice spilled all over my bright white T shirt. Perfect.
I gasped and stared down at my soaked shirt. I hadn't even realized who I had bumped into yet.
I looked up, and saw Kyle standing across from me smirking.
My feet practically tripped over themselves as I ran to the kitchen sink.
"Are you o-" Kyle started to asked, making his way over to me.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I cut him off before he could finish.
"Woah, chill." He chuckled, handing me a wet washcloth.
I snatched it from his hands, and started rubbing it against my shirt. That's when I started to wonder what the heck he was doing by standing behind me.
"What were you doing behind me?" I asked him.
He looked at me, "Why do you care?"
"Because your weird, dude. I wanna know what you were doing behind me." I snarled at him.
"Bro, it's just a shirt. You don't gotta get all mad." Kyle laughed.
"It's not about the shirt." I mumbled, "Never mind."
I grabbed a ton of paper towels, and began to clean up the spilled apple juice all over the floor and countertops.
I could hear Kyle trying to not laugh to himself. I glared up at him.
"What?" I barked at him, "What is so funny?"
"Nothing," He smiled, "Your just cute when your mad."
Seriously. This is how it was going to be.
I rolled my eyes, and walked out of the kitchen. I started to make my way to the living room, just to get away from Kyle.
The farther I walked, the weirder I felt. I felt like someone was following me. I felt like someone was lurking in the shadows.
Kyle.
