There were three gentle knocks on our front door. Even I could hear them from all the way upstairs in my room. I quickly put on some blush, and layered my eyelashes in mascara. I grabbed my favorite mint scented chapstick and put it in my left pocket.
"Hannah, will you go get the door please?" I asked, brushing my hair carefully.
Hannah, who was laying stomach-down on my bed, was putting on my bright pink lipstick. She looked absolutely adorable.
"Uh, yeah!" She replied, with her face glowing up.
I smiled at her, "Thank you."
As she ran down the long, staircase I could hear her little stomps. I stared at myself in the mirror that was hanging on my wall.
My baggy sweatpants looked better than usual on me. Jessica had persuaded me to wear a grey semi-cropped shirt that was pretty basic.
I never really wore crop tops. It wasn't really like I had self-image issues, it was just ... not really my thing. But, the shirt matched the sweatpants almost perfectly, and Jessica had practically begged me to wear it.
Tonight was the night of the party. Was I scared? No. Did I think I was going to have any regrets about going to her party? Possibly.
"Ooh, you must be Zane!" I heard Hannah's high-pitched voice giggle.
I could faintly hear Zane, "Yeah, and you are ... Hannah?"
She laughed, "Yeah!"
"Well Hannah, it's great to meet you!" Zane told her.
I got really excited as I ran down the steps. As I did, Zane's eyes didn't leave mine.
"Hey," He smiled.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I jumped into his arms. It had been a long time since I had seen him in person ... well, more like five days.
"Woah, you look really good." He smirked at me.
I stood on my tippy toes, and kissed him on the cheek, "Aww, thank you. So do you!"
We glanced over at Hannah, who was in the verge of laughing.
"You sure you're gonna be okay, all alone in this house with Tyler?" I asked her.
"Oh yeah, I'll be fine." She was insanely mature for her age, "You guys have fun at that party."
Zane walked over to the front door, and opened it, "Alright, call Rae if you need her, okay?"
Oh course every child in the household had the newest iPhone, and each one of them knew how to use it.
Even the four year old.
"I will!" She told us.
"Bye Hannah!" I said, walking out of the house.
As the front door closed, Zane turned to me, "Dang Rae, your house is huge!"
I chuckled, "Yeah, I don't know how I feel about it."
"Do you miss your old place?"
"No way."
As we hopped into his car, I made sure I had everything that I needed. I made sure I had my phone, chapstick, and wallet.
"Are you worried?" He asked me, looking deep into my eyes.
I gave him a reassuring smile, "No. We're gonna be fine."
He smiled back at me and started the car. As we drove, I stared out of the window. Victoria's house was all the was across town.
