My mouth fell open. And so did Ashers.

"She's gonna be my sister?" Asher muttered.

"I'm gonna have a brother?" I was in shock.

Karen smiled, and led the three other men back into the room. They all grinned, and sat back down into their huge, rolling chairs.

One of the men adjusted their their tie, and the other picked up a few papers.

"Yep. Yep! Are you guys excited?" Karen exclaimed.

I struggled to find the right words. I was for sure happy that I would be living with someone I was semi- familiar with. But ... I had never had a brother before.

"Uh, yeah I guess." Asher stuttered.

He sounded as surprised as I was.

"Let me explain exactly what is going on." One of the men started to tell us, "Before both of you even got here, a family that has been in contact with us for years now, has made it very clear that they are looking for two young people to adopt."

I payed close attention to what was happening and what he was saying.

"When they heard both of your stories, they became very interested in taking a chance on you guys. Usually kids will wait quite a while before someone even bats an eye about them. Both of you guys are very lucky for this situation." The man finished.

I thought about it. It was a little strange ...

"Tell me a little about this family. Please." I asked, being a tad bit curious.

"Well," Karen began, "They live in Weaver Ridge, and they have a few maids. They are both very kind, and so are their darling children."

Oh goodness. So, this family was rich?

"There is a father and a mother, and I believe there are ..." Karen flipped through her notepad, searching for something, "Ah yes, four children."

My eyes grew wide. Asher adjusted his glasses.

"Four kids ...?" Ashers voice sounded shaky.

"Yes. I believe three boys and a girl." The man that hadn't said anything yet told us.

Good lord. So I was going to have four "brothers" and a "sister". I had never even had a sibling before.

"Why do you guys look so shocked?" Karen wondered.

Before I could reply, Asher spoke up, "I don't know, I've just never even thought of Rae as ... a sister."

I looked over at him, "What did you think of me as?"

He glanced back at me, "A friend. Actually, I never even thought I would see you again."

   I thought about it.

"Alright, so the family will be coming in about an hour," One of the men informed us.

   My eyes widened, "What?"

"Yes. The family will be coming by to meet you two, and possibly take you home" Karen looked excited.

"Woah, woah, woah. We're going with them ... like ... today?!" Asher squeaked.

"Well, possibly today, we aren't sure yet. But yes, they are coming today." The youngest looking man informed us.

Even I was surprised. I had gone through two families, and no part of this process had ever happened this fast.
