Kyle looked like he had seen a ghost. He was as pale as ever, even I could see that in the dark. Kyle couldn't even look at me.
"So uh ... what brings you here ...?" Kyle squeaked.
Not so tough now, huh?
"Not much ... I mean Rae didn't get pick up her phone, and I knew she was in the same house as you. And I don't live that far ..." Zane explained.
I looked down at my hands. I didn't know what to do or say.
"Oh yeah ... well nothing really happened ..." Kyle quivered.
"Really?" Zane chuckled, "I don't believe you."
Kyle's eyes got wide. Again. Zane took a few steps towards him.
"Careful." I said to Zane quietly.
Zane looked at me confused.
"He's in contact with Connor." I informed him.
His fists slightly tightened, "Seriously?"
Zane then turned to Kyle, "What the heck dude?"
"I-" Kyle struggled to explain himself.
"Do you know who he is? What he's done?" Zane questioned.
Kyle didn't say anything. He just looked ... scared.
"Connor is messed up in the head. You don't wanna be associated with him at all, trust me." He declared.
That's when Kyle's expression completely changed. Now, he just looked mad.
"You see, that's what you ignorant people think. He's actually pretty nice, if you're not a snobby criminal." Kyle barked.
"Ignorant?" I asked in shock.
He had seriously just called us ignorant.
"Pretty nice? Kyle, open your eyes. Connor's a psycho." Zane laughed.
"Shut up, he is not a psycho." Kyle growled.
"I mean ... he held me hostage against my will ... so yeah I would call him a psycho." I chimed in.
"He would have done way worse if he wanted to. But he spared your pathetic life, princess." Kyle glared at me.
I laughed, "Heh, is that what he told you?"
"He's lying to you, Kyle. Even I know that." Zane told him.
"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, ZANE." Kyle yelled, "HOW WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO RAE?"
My eyes widened as he yelled at us. That's when I thought about how the heck Nick and Jessica we're managing to stay asleep through all of this.
Before I said anything, I turned my head and looked out the window. Jessica's car was gone. They must have gone somewhere. Interesting.
"Rae has told me everything. And I mean EVERYTHING." Zane told Kyle.
"So what?" Kyle mocked.
"I believe her, Kyle. I believe every word she says."
"SERIOUSLY? You believe her over me?"
Zane laughed, "DUDE, OF COURSE. WHAT REASON DO I HAVE TO EVER TRUST YOU?"
"What reason? Did you forget about all of those years that we were friends?" Kyle practically whimpered.
I stared at both of them with a blank face. Now I just felt bad.
