After the confession session with Trish, both of us headed to Ava's for the sleepover.
Honestly, I felt relieved after taking it out to Trish. But I also made her promise to not tell a single soul.
At least, it felt like I wasn't the only one. I felt like I wasn't alone now.
15 minutes later, we pulled up to Ava's house. We'd decided to get yogurts for Ava and Rey too.
We went in, and the familiar smell of something delicious greeted us.
Ava's mom always made awesome stuff whenever we came over.
Today it smelled like apples.
Mrs. Arson greeted us at the foyer with big bear hugs.
She smelled like dough and sugar.
We rushed upstairs to Ava's room. It was large and spacious, with gold-themed walls, and the bed had soft, pale pink covers.
It was a room fit for a princess. Seeing that Ava is a princess, well, who am I to complain?
We found the 2 of them huddled on the bed. Rey was talking and whatever it was, it had Ava completely wrapped up.
Ava technically jumped when I closed the door behind me.
She whipped her head in our direction, her frame tensed.
When she spotted us, though, she relaxed.
"Holy shit you almost killed me," she gasped.
I rolled my eyes.
Such a drama queen.
"What exactly was the sole topic of discussion that miladies failed to take notice of the young maidens who hast befallen upon thy rooms?" Trish asked.
Rey and I laughed.
Ava just scowled.
"Milady, if thou considers thyself as a maiden, then may I be so humble as to prove thou wrong?" she hissed.
It was Trish's turn to pout. She opened her mouth to throw back a witty answer, but was stopped by Rey.
"Fair maidens, it is my humble request to sit thy asses down," she said sharply.
Now I lost it. I was laughing so hard, it became difficult to breathe.
Literally.
My breath hitched, as if someone had just clenched my throat.
I panicked.
The others were still laughing and bickering, not having noticed me yet.
I had to get their attention, or miladies wouldn't notice if I blacked out right now, right here.
I clenched one of my hands around my throat, gasping.
I could take just one tiny breath at a time. And that hurt like hell too.
With my other hand, I reached blindly for the table behind me, for anything soft to throw at them.
I felt papers, pens, wood....
Nonononono time was running out.
Something, I needed anything.
Now I was getting dizzy.
Black started clouding my eyes, engulfing everything around me, closing in like a spiral.
And then I passed out.
