Sasha's P. O. V.

Everything and everyone was going cuckoo over homecoming. I mean, it was still a week away, for God's sake!

Cool down, people.

And meanwhile, at Folsom High, preparations had started. Volunteers were requested over the p.a. announcements on Monday morning.

Girls were hanging out in groups huddled at the stairs, all giggling and smiling over news of who asked whom to the dance.

Also, turns out, Noah (a jock, but not mean at all) asked Audrey to 'do him the honour of accompanying him to the dance'. It was cute, how he asked her. He was standing near her locker after school ended on Tuesday. He looked a bit nervous, and I'll say, I never thought he was capable of such an emotion. He let out a cute goofy smile when Rey said yes, showing his dimples. He did that wolf-whistle thing guys do, and ran a hand through his messy brown hair, his hazel eyes twinkling.

He was cute, and him and Rey looked real cute together.

The 'shy girl and popular jock' cliche fulfilled.

Anyways. Honestly, you'd think our school was hosting a ball.

Well, in a way, it is true, just without the exception of a frickin' castle.

The dance was to be conducted in the cafeteria. And let me tell you, it is a huge place.

And I am guessing that after all the decorations, it's gonna be......GREAT.

**Meanwhile.....

Alex and I were cool again.

And for some reason yet unknown to mankind, there was this weird fluttering in my stomach. A happy one. Almost like....hope. I'll admit, having Alex ask me to the dance was.......real good, but that's just it. He asked me to the dance, that's all. It was nothing more. I mean, it's not like he asked me to 'ride away into the sunset' with him.

Yet, the look in his eyes when he asked me still haunted me. It was almost as if......

No. NOT AGAIN.

Oh, and, of course, Trish and Cole were......amazing.

They had the perfect relationship.

They weren't all mushy and dewy-eyed around each other. They were chill. They teased each other, and made jokes about every single thing, and they were just....happy.

I'll admit, I've never seen either of them so happy in a long time, feeling as if, with each other was the only place they wanted to be.

And no, it wasn't a regular cliché where they 'forgot about the rest of the world's worries, and melted into each other's eyes and totally forgot about us.'

Thank god that didn't happen.

They were the same with us, and Trish was still fretting around about her college admission.

*Coming back to the dance topic......

THE MOST IMPORTANT, CRUCIAL, UNDENIABLY BREATHTAKING PART WAS.............(drum roll)..........THE DRESSES.

All the girls (me included a bit) were going downright crazy.

Hey, a girl's gotta look good, right?

Trish, Ava, Audrey and I decided to go dress-shopping at Wednesday evening.

I already had that black dress, but I had to get matching shoes and other stuff. Also, the girls told me that it was my 'moral obligation' to accompany them.
