Days till Homecoming passed.......eventfully.
It was like this increasing excitement EVERY FRICKIN' DAY.
And things with Alex just got better. Just after we'd come home from the dress shopping, I'd been lying on my bed when my phone chimes.
A text. From him.
I raised my eyebrows and smiled.
'Hey!! Cn I call? RN??'
- 'Yeahbsolutely'
A minute later, my phone rang, and Alex's name popped up.
I picked it up.
"Hey there" I say.
"Hey", his voice comes through, slow and husky.
My heart flutters.
"You girls done with the shopping?"
"Yeah, finally,"
I'm still smiling like crazy.
"What colour dress are you wearing, Sash?"
"Ummm........black, why?"
"In case you forgot, guys gotta wear tuxes too, you know"
I could feel the smile in his voice.
"Yeah of course" I say, remembering.
"You forgot, didn't you?"
Yes.
"What? No! Me? Forget? No way!"
"Yeah sure" he replied, stretching out the 'sure'.
I bite my lip, still smiling.
What the hell was going on? Nothing had made me smile so much.
I close my eyes, and lie on my bed, pulling the phone as near to me as possible. I needed to see him.
Right now.
"Hey, I need to see you" his voice says.
WHA.....
"Wha-I-yeah sure" I stutter.
"So......see you in, say, 15 minutes??" He asks.
"10." I say.
"Ooooohhh someone likes me" he drawls.
Of course I like him.
"What? No wayyy I just wanna see my best friend, is that a sin too now?" I ask.
Shit we were flirting.
"Ok then 'Creams and Gurts in 10 minutes" he says, a certain edge to his voice.
Was he nervous?
I smile. "It's a date."
I can almost imagine him running his hand through his hair and lifting one of his brows, the one with the scar.
"Bye, then." I say.
He doesn't reply. For a second. Then he says, "yeah bye."
I put down my phone and giggle.
Wait what? I don't do GIGGLES
Oh well. Times change.
But now, I had bigger problems. Like what to wear.
So I called the only person who could help. Ava.
When I told her, she began crazy squealing.
Like a puppy.
