"Hannah, HANNAH!" I jolted awake at the sound of my teacher's  piercing voice. It left the effect of nails on a chalk board right after the room filled with helium.

"I'm sorry what? Um-what was the question?" I heard giggles as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I looked over to Sydney, trying to find a grasp on reality while I faded back to clear thinking, who mouthed the words "You fell asleep." Oh shit, I thought. Mrs. Clark was already my least favorite teacher, and I definitely wasn't her favorite student. But breaking the rules in her class was always the worst experience because she would attempt to make your ears bleed with the lectures she would give.

"Hannah, Sydney, may I speak to you both in the hall please?...Now!" The sudden aggression made Sydney and I jolt out from our desk and quickly walked toward the door. We glanced at each other with a mixture of annoyance and worry. There was a chorus of 'Ooo's and 'you're in troubleeee'. Each of the students in my class found it amusing that either Sydney or I would be patronized or disciplined each day.

"I don't know what I did Mrs. Clark to be out here, but I think I know why Hannah is," Sydney said furrowing her brows and sticking her tongue out at me like a 5 year old before we faced the teacher.

"Shut up!" I snapped at her with a glare. I was about to start muttering many choice words at the brunette, but I was interrupted by Mrs. Clark.

"WHERE IS HE?!" Sydney and I physically jumped when a screech ripped through the air.

"WHERE! IS! HE!" When we finally were able to get over our shock from the noise we were able to see that our teacher was standing about a hundred feet from us and she was speaking as if a demon was inside her. Her back was hunched over, and her arms and legs were bent in a way that made it seem as though she was connected to string like a puppet.

"WHO?!" I yelled back her question just now registering in my head, but still very surprised that no one has walked into the hall wondering what all of the commotion was. Mrs. Clark let out a shrill cry as her back arched awkwardly making a slight crack. She began to sprint to us and with every step a patch of skin shriveled off to reveal leathery, brown, dry skin.

"What the..." Sydney's horrified and confused voice trailed of as I yanked on her arm, and pulled her in the opposite direction. Without looking back I heard another screech so i let go of Sydney and we pushed ourselves faster. Then there was another this time it sounded right over our heads, sending a chill down my spine, so I turned around just in time to see razor sharp, black claws dig into my shoulders. I let out an involuntary cry of pain while my eyes pinched shut.

"Hannah!" Sydney screamed trying to jump at my feet to pull me down. I couldn't think or see straight from the rapid loss of blood, Sydney's form seemed to be jumping farther away from me at each attempt. Everything was rapidly becoming more foggy by the second...my brain, my eyesight. I could hear my heart pounding in my ears like war drums in my ears. I could feel the dampness of my thick blood causing my clothes to stick to my shoulder, damp, from where my former teacher's claws dug into my shoulders. But then I heard something other than the drums. I recognized it straight away to be the voice of my favorite adult \, my social studies teacher, Mr. Brunner.

"YOU DROP HER OR I SWEAR I'LL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!"

The monster screeched one last time, then simply dropped me. I fell to the floor harder than I was prepared to. THUMP! My body crumpling to the force of the hard surface. As soon as I hit the floor everything went black.
