Goodbyes hurt

Chapter 23

Even as Jimin slept beside him, Taehyung's mind wasn't in peace.What was going to happen to them?Jimin want them to be best friends again but Taehyung can barely look at Jimin without wanting to hold him in his arms.Only few days prior,he promised he would put his distance and now he was as closer as he ever been before since coming back,even in it's literal sense.Taehyung lost count of how many hours he had been awake for and at some point 4 am struck and Jimin was awake.
"You still didn't sleep?",Jimin asked sleepily and Taehyung hummed as a reply.

"Go to sleep,you have four hours till your morning class",Jimin said as he proceeded to go for his daily jogging.
"You always leave this early?",Taehyung couldn't help but ask.Jimin nodded as he stretched,"Can't sleep after 4,It became a routine somehow"
"Can I come with you?",Taehyung asked out of the blue and Jimin stopped mid-way through tying his shoelace.
"You haven't slept at all,Tae",He tried to justify but Taehyung wasn't budging.Finally Jimin had to agree and that's how Taehyung threw on a sweater and left with Jimin.

Although it was almost pitch dark,Taehyung could still see the glow reflecting off of Jimin,he was happy.Jimin was continuously talking about how his typical day would go and Taehyung wanted to be a part of it all.The city was sleeping when they settled onto the grass patches by the pavement of  Han river.
"I thought you were gonna jog",Taehyung questioned and Jimin shook his head,"I'll just stay with you for today"

Then there was silence where a cold breeze kissed both of them and went it's way and Taehyung shivered.Jimin smiled at the fact that Taehyung still cannot handle cold.And Taehyung was wondering how it was so easy for Jimin to fall right back into what they were before without the trace of the lost 5 years.Jimin moved closer to Taehyung and Taehyung pointed far to the left,"Is that Namsan Tower?"
"Yup,and..and if you move along you can see the 63 square too", Jimin reached forward to direct Taehyung's hand.

"Wahh!! "
"You didn't go out at all after coming to Seoul?"

Taehyung shook his head and Jimin smiled,"We can go to Yeouido if you want"
"Really?",Taehyung smiled and It has been a while since Jimin had seen his box smile,that comes only when he is very happy.
"Yeah,We'll borrow Namjoon hyung's car and take a ride",Jimin promised.
"You can't go back on it,okay?"
Jimin smiled.

"What's with the smile on your face?It's blinding",Jisoo said as soon as she saw Jimin walk in.Jimin just shrugged and Jisoo gasped,"you had sex!"
"What?! No.I just made up with Taehyung"
"Same difference",Jisoo smiled and Jimin pinched her cheeks and Jisoo swatted his hands away.
"Tell me everything,are you breaking up with Jungkook?",Jisoo's mouth literally had no reins and Jimin sighed,"Why would I break up with Jungkook?"
"I thought you went after Taehyung so -"

Jimin shook his head,already frowning,"I wanted Taehyung to be my best friend like always and Jungkook is my boyfriend"
Jisoo sat closer and took Jimin's hands,"But..but you love him"
"Yes,as a best friend."
"You used to love him more than a bestfriend, Jimin.Whom are you lying to? I was right there"
"I used to,Jisoo..I used to.Not anymore.I am in love with Jungkook"
"Are you though?Is this like one of those times where you keep lying to yourself and eventually believe that lie?",Jisoo had to ask again and Namjoon, just in time, slid between them,concentration etched still on his phone but didn't forget to peck on Jisoo's forehead.

"I don't do that anymore,I do love him",Jimin was sure hundred percent and Jisoo had one more question to ask,"What if Taehyung loves you?"
"He loves me as a friend.He always have"
Jisoo let out an awkward smile and huffed,"sure"
Jimin tapped lightly on Jisoo's forehead and said,"Stop thinking too much.I gotta go..Bye Hyung"
"This is getting complicated but why didn't Taehyung ever confess 5 years ago?",Namjoon said and Jisoo shrugged,it was something Taehyung never answered.

Taehyung still hadn't figured out about anything,he knew this was dangerous.The red flags were everywhere.Right now,anything that had to do with Jimin was dangerous and hanging out with Jungkook and Jimin was the last thing he wanted to do and yet there he was.Jimin's hands firm around his wrist as he pulled Taehyung along.And Jungkook didn't even mind, instead was excited just the same.

"Hyung,'am glad you finally came out with us",Jungkook had commented and Jimin was quick to state that he was the one who got credits for dragging Taehyung along and Taehyung smiled bitterly and prayed that it rain on Jimin's parade.
"I wanted to watch this movie for so long but Jiminie hyung was busy",Jungkook told Taehyung and the latter couldn't care less about whatever things that goes on between the love birds.But he was too nice to say no or leave the duo.And that's how he ended up in the theatre.Jimin sitting between himself and Jungkook and only five minutes into the movie,Jungkook had his hands intertwined with Jimin's.Taehyung sighed and the two hours that followed was just as treacherous.He obviously felt bitter about the two and had already known they were so cheesy but to be right there,next to them and even listening to the conversation between them was very weird.

It's  not like he heard anything over the movie but when he involuntarily  eavesdropped to know what was Jimin so happy about,he felt disgusted about himself.Even when Taehyung told himself to bear with it for another 5 minutes,he questioned how to bear it for another 2 years.Breaking his thoughts,Jimin turned around at him and leaned in.The blue lights from the screen slipping over Jimin's flushed skin wasn't something Taehyung had expected to see.Taehyung shamelessly missed what Jimin told him and didn't even have the courage to ask again.

By the time the trio drove back to campus and Jungkook said Goodbye,Taehyung promised himself to never go along with them ever again.But how was he supposed to know it was only the first of the numerous!! Taehyung followed Jimin to the dance studio silently for their practice.

A/n:Soooooo just wanted to get this over with.And yes Taehyung's life is only getting shittier but hey!! I might upload another chapter soon
