Chapter 17 - Who's at fault?

Chester's Pov (Before exam)

It's too early in the morning and yet here I am in our office arranging papers and documents. I don't even have time to review for my exam when today is our first day of exam.

*Knock! *Knock! *Knock!

As I was busy arranging folders on my desk I heard someone knocking on my door.

"Come in" I said. And the door opened as the assistant principal entered.

"Good morning Mr. Ramirez" he greeted.

"Good morning" I stood up as I greeted back.

"It seems that you are quite busy at this time in the morning" he said as he took his seat in front of my desk.

"There are sets of activities lined up for this month that's why" I replied.

"Are you prepared for your exam? Today's the first day of your exam right?" he asked as he roam his eyes around our office.

"I guess I am" I answered as I continued to do my task.

"Are you sure? Because I was willing to give you extra time to review" he answered.

"What?" I asked confusedly.

"Finish your tasks and I'll give you an hour to prepare for your exam, you can skip your first hour exam and stay here while you review or rest. I'll talk to your adviser about this. Think of it as your reward for working hard." He said as he stood up and left my office, I mean our office.

At least now I have time. Time is my reward?

I resume to what I was currently doing and sort all the documents that needed sorting. I was busy that I lost track of time. It was past 8 when I finish my tasks and I decided to go outside and take a walk for a while.

I need to rest my eyes and mind before I start reviewing.

I'm sure exams had started now but the good thing here is that I'm excused for an hour.

As soon as I stepped out of my office I walked towards our building, as I enjoyed walking and resting my mind for a while I saw someone coming late.

Someone was running, running as if it was her last time running on earth. Saka ko siya namukaan, it was Samara. She was running towards our building. I think it's the first time I saw her coming to school late.

Ano nanaman bang ginawa niya kaya nalate siya? As if naman na nagrereview siya, nagrereview ba siya? Wait, why do I even care if she's late or if she reviewed. It's not even my problem.

As I walked towards our building I stopped, I sensed that someone is watching me. Someone's hiding from somewhere, as I roam my eyes slowly searching for that specific person, where the hell are you?

I moved and roam around as I was searching for someone until I stopped and stayed to where I was standing.

Then suddenly his presence was gone. 

He left. 

Coward.

That was when I gave up looking at naglakad palapit sa may poste kung saan kitang kita ko si Samara na tumatakbo papunta sa classroom niya.

I saw her entering their classroom at ang paglabas niya ng classroom nila para sa labas mag exam. I saw how she looked at her test paper at alam ko ang mukang yon, muka ng babagsak.
