3 Months Later

As they sat quietly in front of each other, no one can tell whether what will happen next after this.

She's staring at him blankly while he's wondering what she's thinking. No one said a word, they can hear each other's deep breathing.

No one wants to say a word, neither of them don't know where to start.

She sips from her favorite Caramel Macchiato and looked at him, waiting for him to say a word.

"What is it that-" he asked but she cut him off.

"Let's break up" she said. And that made him stop.

"What? What do you mean?" he asked being confused.

"We're preventing each other to grow. And you know that" she said coldly.

"I'm sorry if I had to do this now but if I don't do this now, when will I do it? Pagod na ko." She murmured.

"Tired? Tired of what? Tired of us? Tired of me?" he asked.

"It's just that..." she paused.

"You promised. Remember that? You promised that no matter what happens, you'll stick with me..." he reasoned.

"But that was long ago-" she replied and that's when he cut her off.

"Long or not still you promised!" he exclaimed.

"That was when I loved you the most... that was when I fell in love with the real you, but now you're showing me different side of you... hindi ko na alam kung ikaw pa ba yung hangal na una kong nakilala..." She chuckled. "..o iba na. Hindi na kita maintindihan" she said trying not to cry as she lowers her head but she couldn't.

"Love..." he called her out. She looked at him with tears in her eyes and a small smile on her lips.

And he thought, she wasn't always strong. Not today.

"I love it when you call me that, I love it every time you call me that." She chuckled. "We were happy right? Ok naman tayo diba? Where did it all go wrong?" she asked as she gently wipe the tears that keep rolling down her cheeks.

For the first time she's showing what she really felt, not pretending to be strong.

He badly want to wipe it for her, he badly want to hug her and tell her that everything's all right but he can't.

He was a fool for not doing anything.

He watched her as she removes the necklace he gave her on her birthday. She stared at it as her tears started rolling again and she looked at him, smiling.

She held his hand and put her necklace in it as she lean forward to give him a peck on his lips.

Probably it's her way of saying goodbye.

"I'm sorry but we have to end it here. Our intertwined fate ends here" she said as she stood up and leave.

He didn't say a word as he stared at the empty chair in front of him. He was speechless, thinking he was stupid enough to let her leave like that and not chasing after her.

He was a fool to let her go just like that.
