Sunday Oliver takes me to the hospital to see Emily. She's unrecognizable. I try to stay strong but I lose it as soon as I see her. So does she. Oliver is just standing there with clenched fist and I know he's thinking about how it could be me in this hospital bed right now.

Oliver leaves us alone after about ten minutes. I know the only reason he does is because theres a guard outside her door. I stay with her for a little over an hour and by then her latest round of pain medication have kicked in and she's falling alseep.

Oliver and I try to maintain some form of normalcy. We still go to his parents for dinner. Luckily I'm at a point at work were I just finished a big project and I'm just now in the research and planning stage of a new project. So we both work from home on Monday and Tuesday.

Tuesday night we get a call from Officer Jones telling us that John used his debit card at a hotel in Chicago. Chicago PD is heading to the hotel now to check it out. By the time we go to bed we haven't heard back from them so we assume they didn't find him.

Wednesday morning another phone call comes telling us he did get a room there and he was seen on hotel surveillance checking in. However when they checked the room he wasn't in it. His belongings are still there and he hasn't checked out so they have officers keeping an eye on the hotel room.

Wednesday I have a meeting with my client to go over the design plan I've been working on so I go into the office. As much as Oliver hates it he too has a meeting he can't miss so he goes to work as well. Our office is in the middle of downtown where there are lots of people and there are always people in the office. Plus if the cops are right John isn't even in the state.

My meeting goes well and it feels good to be out of the house. I text Oliver when I'm getting ready to leave for the day.

Leaving the office now. How much longer will you be?

About an hour. Make sure you text me as soon as you get home. And don't forget to reset the alarm. I love you.

I will. Love you, too.

My cars in the lot off to the side of our building. And even though its broad daylight Emma still insists on walking me out to my car.

Once I'm home I text Oliver before I even get out of the car.

I'm home. See you soon.

Okay good. See you soon.

I hit the garage door button and get out of the car. As I lean back in to grab my bag a hand goes over my mouth and I feel something being pressed into my back. I drop my purse on the floor next to my car.

"Suprise."

My heart is pounding out of my chest. I can't believe this is happening.

"Where's that big man if yours? The guns for him. Can't have him getting in the way of our fun now can we? "

I try to wrestle free but he only grabs me tighter.

"Now, now. Didn't you learn your leason about fighting back last time?" He starts walking us towards the door. "Now you're going to turn off the alarm without any funny business okay? And if that dog of yours tries anything I will shoot it. Now I'm going to let you go so you can lock that dog up as soon as we get inside. Remember I have a gun so don't try anything."

He releases me and as he does he cocks the gun so I know he's serious. I disarm the alarm and as soon as I open the door Milo comes up tail wagging. I quickly take him and put him outside in the backyard. I dont want anything to happen to him. Plus if he starts barking a lot maybe he'll alert a neighbor.
