Velociraptor was a small Dromaeosaurid from Cretaceous Mongolia. It was one of the 40 or so species of Dinosaur that were found with feathers covering the body. Don't let their plumage fool you, and these theropods had 3 inch toe-claws that were used to slit throats of prey.
There is a quote saying, "A Velociraptor without feathers isn't a Velociraptor."
The most famous fossil of Velociraptor was discovered in 1971. It was of the Dromaeosaurid battling a Protoceratops; the Velociraptors toe-claw imbedded in the ceratopsians throat, and the Protoceratops biting the raptors right arm.

In the famous 1993 film, Jurassic Park, Velociraptors were some of the most inaccurate creatures featured. They were depicted as having thick, crocodilian-like scales and were three times the size of real Velociraptors. Their heads were also wrong, having bony ridges that never existed. Their arms were broken too, as real ones face inwards in a "clapping" position.
The idea that Velociraptor hunted in packs is actually true. They were too small to take down most prey in the Cretaceous Gobi desert, so hunting in packs like wolves would be a huge advantage.

  Weight: 33 Pounds
Height: 1.6 Feet at the hip

Feathers cover the whole body, creating "wings" on its arms (which were most likely used to steer while running) and a fan of shafted feathers on the tail. A long snout with tiny serrated teeth. Three toes on the feet, the one most inward larger and facing up (this is the "killing claw")
