Compsognathus was a genus if small, carnivorous theropod dinosaur. It lived in the Late Jurassic period in what is now Europe. It was likely the tiniest Dinosaur to ever evolve, growing to only the size of a chicken. Compsognathus was first discovered by Dr. Oberndorfer in limestone deposits in Bavaria, Germany in the late 1850's. It was named by Johaan A. Wagner in 1859. Length: 2.3 to 4.6 Feet Weight: 6.6 Pounds Diet: Meat and Insects Lived: In Europe during the Late Jurassic of the Mesozoic Era Appearance: A small lanky body in a horizontal stance.
