Anomalocaris

Anomalocaris was the very first apex predator, living during the Cambrian period of the Paleozoic Era. It had many things the Earth had never seen before; a streamlined body, eyes, and two large segmented forelimbs for grabbing prey.
Discovered in 1892 by Joseph Whiteaves, but in several different pieces. The firearms of the arthropod were though to be the tails of ancient shrimp, hence its name "strange-shrimp"
Length: 1-2 meters
Weight: 20 pounds
Diet: Soft bodied creatures and possibly Trilobites
   Lived: Worldwide during the Cambrian period in the Paleozoic Era
   Appearance: Bilaterally symmetrical and dorsoventrally flattened with an exoskeleton. Gills and a prominent tailfan with three fins
