Hallucigenia was a genus of Cambrian Xenusiids, and was first discovered by Simon Conway-Morris in 1977. This bizarre creature started heated debates on its features, like whether it walked on its spines or what side it had it head on.
It was confirmed that it did indeed walk on its actual legs, but the spines purpose is still a mystery. It's head was finally discovered over 50 years later when the fossils were looked at under microscopes, and it turns out it had two tiny eyes and a mouth with a ring of teeth!
