You stared at the door handle before deciding it wasn't worth it to go outside in that storm to get some pesky stray cat. You walked away from the window into your living room to watch some TV while waiting for your pasta to boil.

You skipped through show after show trying to find something to watch before just changing over to Netflix. You watched ten minutes into your movie/show before checking on your pasta.

It was just a about ready so you made your dish and started to walk back to the couch when you looked outside again. Lighting struck but you didn't see the cat anymore, you shook it off as the cat wondered off but you couldn't help the feeling of being watched. You shook it off and went back to the couch to finish your movie/show.

You finished eating and were washing the dishes when the power went out. You yelped at the sudden darkness before realizing what happened. You had left your phone upstairs so you tried to navigate in the dark. Luckily you knew your house well and were able to make it to your bedroom.

You were debating on sleeping or not because of the storm. You decided sleep would be best because you can't do much in the dark. So you crawled into bed and drifted off to sleep.

You awoke, but you couldn't move you felt paralyzed and it was pitch black. All you could see was your lit phone screen. It was 2:34 am at night and it was still storming out. A flash of lighting lit up the room and you swore you saw something in the corner. You stared at the corner in fear and still paralyzed. Another lighting struck and the thing was now closer.

It looked like a cat, the same cat you saw outside before except it was grinning. You were still paralyzed and in panic and started to hyperventilate. With every lighting strike the cat got closer and closer till it was right I front of your face. It's eyes were blood red staring into your e/c eyes.

The cats eyes weren't normal they were so sinister. You couldn't tell but it seemed the cats grin never faded and only got wider the closer it got. Suddenly another flash of lightening hit the room and the cat was gone.

You inhaled a heavy breath and quickly sat up suddenly able to move. You took heavy breaths and slowly laid back down. You looked back at your phone then at the corner you saw the cat in before relaxing. You considered it to be some weird sleep episode they weren't uncommon to what you've heard so you tried to go back to sleep.

You felt your heart drop though. Just as you closed your eyes you felt breathing on the back of your neck. All hairs on your body stood on end as you slowly opened your eyes and turned around.....
