Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Best. Birthday. Ever. 

Kookie was running around the house with more energy than the members had ever seen. Nothing could keep the little from running, yelling and singing, all because of one thing. His birthday was tomorrow. Something that everyone and their mother knew at this point because Kookie had been yelling it all day every since he slipped into little space.

They hadn't been very busy the last few days, even while they were promoting dynamite they had more time than usual because of the pandemic. This meant that both Kookie and Yoonie had had more time in little space than ever before and everyone was enjoying it a lot. Everyone was way more relaxed than they had ever been and days like today, days on which both Yoongi and Jungkook slipped somewhere after lunch, were the best ones.

Nobody had expected Kookie to be this hyper though. Nobody had expected little Kookie to remember his own birthday to be honest but they had been very wrong. Little Kookie very much remembered his own birthday and the fact that it was tomorrow. At first Yoonie had joined his hyung-ah in running around the house (albeit a lot less fast) and he was even speaking on a normal volume instead of his usual whisper (if he wasn't non-verbal, they had a lot of non-verbal days as well). Kookie's energy had obviously been contagious but Yoonie had to give up following his hyung-ah after a few hours. Instead he settled himself in his appa's lap and refused to sleep so he could still watch his hyung-ah. Kookie was Yoonie's favourite person in the whooolllee world, besides his appa. He liked his appa even more than Kookie.

The other members were less happy about Kookie's energy burst. Jin has had multiple heart attacks from littles almost breaking things or almost getting hurt badly; Jimin and Taehyung had been on feeding Kookie duty which ended up in a full on food fight between the three (making all the non-little hyungs very mad); Hoseok had been forced to help Jimin and Taehyung clean Kookie, which of course ended up in something that resembled a water ballet; and Namjoon had had the task of keeping his little and boyfriend safe. Nobody thought it was fair seeing as Namjoon had the easiest job of them all by far but they couldn't do anything about it.

"Kookie, it's already 10 o'clock, if you go to sleep now it will be tomorrow faster so it will be your birthday faster!" Jimin tried to pursue Kookie into going to bed. To no-one's surprise, this was not working, the little still had too much energy to sleep. Yoonie, on the other hand, was so close to drifting to sleep that he didn't even notice his appa was taking him to his room.

"Kookie, if you are not gonna sleep right now, you are not allowed to cuddle with Yoonie!" Jin bride and he was definitely having more success than Jimin.

"I can sleep with Yoonie?" Kookie asked with wide eyes.

"Only if you go to sleep right now, Yoonie can not stay awake any longer!" Jin answered, making Kookie doubt what the better option was.

"I gonna sleep now only if............" Kookie started, "Only if... We all gonna cuddle in a big fort here!" he ended while pointing to the couch and the ground in front of the couch. Jin looked at the living room, before looking at Jimin and the others with questioning eyes. It was Namjoon who ended up deciding that Kookie's plan really wasn't that bad. It was his birthday soon after all and it had been a while since they all had a living room sleepover.

"Let's do it!" Namjoon said and Yoonie's eyes went wide, he hadn't understood a lot of the conversation but he did understand the 'sleepover with everyone' part and his appa allowing it made him very happy. So happy even, that he spontaneously gave his appa a kiss on his cheek, surprising Namjoon a lot.

"Is my little baby happy that he can cuddle with everyone tonight?" Namjoon asked Yoonie and Yoonie nodded hard before signing for his appa to put him down on the ground.

"Kookie, it looks like Yoonie wants to help you make our fort!" Hoseok said while giggling at the squirming little in Namjoon's hands. "I'll go grab all the pillows and blankets! Taehyung-ah, come help me!"
"Coming Hyung!" and the two started running towards the bedrooms. They might not be littles but they were just as excited for a huge sleepover as the littles. Namjoon in the meantime put the now whining Yoonie down so he could help his hyung-ah. Yoonie immediately started crawling towards his hyung and gave him a hug.
"Yoonie" Kookie giggled "Not hug time, we gotta build fort!" Yoonie nodded and let go of the other little but didn't really know what to do. Luckily Kookie was always ready to give Yoonie tips and commandos.
"Yoonie, you help dada with foods!" Kookie said to Yoonie while pointing at the kitchen where Jimin was preparing some late-night snacks. Yoonie nodded and crawled towards the kitchen (Jin picked him up somewhere between the kitchen and living room so he wouldn't have to crawl all the way but that's detail).
"Joonie help me with couch!" Kookie continued and Namjoon started to laugh.
"Kookie, when you want someone to help you, what do you say?" he scolded while laughing.
"Pretty please?" Kookie answered and Namjoon could not say no to those big doe eyes. Together they pushed the couch out of the way and when Taehyung and Hoseok returned with all the blankets and pillows in the house, they finished the 'fort' with the four of them. Just when the last pillow was in place Jimin, Jin and Yoonie came from the kitchen and Jimin put the late-night snacks on the coffee table while Jin put Yoonie in the middle of the fort. The others decided that this was their cue to all get comfortable in the fort and within a few minutes everyone was cuddling and the tv was playing some little-friendly cartoons.

It only took 5 minutes for Yoonie to be asleep and half an hour later Kookie was also sleeping. The others were just lounging in the cuddle pile, Jimin and Taehyung were talking quietly, Hoseok and Jin were sharing earphones to watch a video on Hoseok's phone and Namjoon was just scrolling through twitter.

At 12am when it was finally officially Jungkook's birthday, only Namjoon was left awake. He had seen a fan tweet about how the billboard hot 100 chart for coming week could be revealed at any moment and he decided that it was worth staying awake to watch where they ended. In no world however, he had expected to actually see Dynamite debute on number 1. He was stunned for a few seconds before he started yelling, making all hell brake lose.

"EVERYONE EVERYONE WAKE UP OMG WAKE UP WE ACTUALLY MADE IT WAKE UP WAKE UP" Namjoon started yelling while getting out from under Yoongi and jumping up and down.
"WHAT'S HAPPENING WHO'S DYING?!" Jin yelled back when he heard Namjoon.
"HYUNG HYUNG DYNAMITE DEBUTED ON NUMBER 1 ON THE BILLBOARD HOT 100. WE MADE IT HYUNG WE MADE IT." Namjoon yelled back and he hugged his hyung. It took Jin a few seconds before realising what Namjoon said and suddenly the tears started flowing.
"W-we actually did it??" He said while sobbing but Namjoon had no time to answer because the others had also woken up.
"What is happening?" Taehyung said sleepily but all the sleep vanished when he heard Namjoon's answer.
"WE ARE BILLBOARD HOT 100 NUMBER ONE SINGERS TAE-AH." Namjoon yelled and now all the others had heard. Yoongi and Jimin also immediately started crying and Taehyung and Jungkook were completely stunned. Yoongi suddenly said something while everyone was quiet for a tiny bit.
"Happy birthday Jungkook-ah, you officially have the best birthday present ever." Making Jungkook also tear up.

They didn't sleep for the remaining of the night. They partied, cried and partied some more, happy that they finally got the recognition they deserved all along.
